Where did you have your child's first birthday?!
Can you guys throw out names of places to have a first birthday party?! We have a rather large family, so probably inviting close to 100 people. I know some might it's crazy to have a big birthday but I'd appreciate any and all suggestions as to where to look - it'll be in March!

Restaurant called Lulas in Mineola. It's now called True American Kitchen. They just gave me a very reasonable price for DS2's christening. However, we went with Knights of Columbus in Mineola. They gave me an even better price! $28 pp includes beer, wine, soda. Room is great size.

home... places like KOC and firehouses are great so you don't have to pay the price of another wedding..

Re: Where did you have your child's first birthday?!
We had Julian's first birthday at my parent's house - in their yard.
We had a petting zoo come to us for the kids.
That might be tough with a large guest list. Don't forget you can always rent areas of large parks -- like fields at Eisenhower or wherever is close to your home. That is a good way to have a lot of people and then bring entertainment there -- pony rides for the kids, etc.

White post. It was great, they say you can invite whatever adults you want but I don't know if 100 is too much. We had 10 kids and maybe 20-25 adults.

Where did you have your child's first birthday?!
We had it at White Post Farms. I think if you have that many adults you would have to have it in the Circus Pavillion Room

Re: Where did you have your child's first birthday?!
Thank you for all of the suggestions.- Kepp them coming!! White Post farms seems like a great idea, but the circus pavillion room isn't available in March:(
We did such a small christening of only aunts and uncles because our family is so big. We said we would do a big 1st birthday, but finding a place to accomodate this many people and at a reasonable price is ridiculous. SOme catering halls are telling me over 100 per person for a Sunday day party in March when it isn't even wedding season - so ridiculous, I refuse to pay even close to that much!!!

Are you in Nassau County? My sister just got wedding quotes at Stewart Manor Country Club and Harbor Links for ~$75 for a Sunday day event.
Our baby shower was about $65pp at Douglaston Manor, buffet option with wine and beer. Bella Vista room which had great space for dancing and kids entertainment. GOOD LUCK.

Are you sure it is not available in March. I had my son's birthday party in March and I believe that it was an option (we just did not have a big enough party for it).

Re: Where did you have your child's first birthday?!
I had my DS ' 1st birthday party at Jackie Reillys in Bethpage, prices were good, but I wouldn't put 100 people in there (I had more like 50-60). We also looked at the Memorare Club in Seaford.
My sister had both my nieces and nephew's 1st birthday party at the Hartigan Manor in Bethpage and that was a large room with a big dance floor. She had about 80 people but you could probably fit more. They used the house DJ that did a great job entertaining the kids.

Re: Where did you have your child's first birthday?!
I had it at Forest City Park in Wantagh. It was in June and they have 2 big gazebos with a private area you are the only ones there. Also there are 2 playgrounds by age and a pool. I have to say it was the best because there was something to do for everyone and the kids loved it. Especially when Mr Softee came just for us!!! I think the adults were more excited than the kids.
Sorry just read it was for march.
