Dressing little girls in black
My DD just turned 2, she's my first girl after 2 boys. Needless to say I'm loving shopping for her. But is it just me or is there so much black/gray/leopard out there? Am I being way old fashioned or does anyone else not like dressing little girls in black?

Re: Dressing little girls in black
I actually love black and gray (not leopard though) and I dressed my DD in those colors a lot, even when she really little. I think some outfits can look super cute in those colors!!

I think you and I are both old-fashioned. My mom has ingrained in me that little girls should not wear black. That said, I have dressed DD in it once or twice, and she looked adorable.

I hate leopard and animal prints more than anything else. Black doesn't bother me. DD has owned a lot of gray. not flattering on her but MIL loves it.

Dressing little girls in black
I love all that for little girls. I am not big on foofoo, frilly, and tutus. Certain tutus are cute, but I pretty much stay away they are too much for me and the style I like for DD. I like adult fashion for kids

Mil is anti black on babies, but I think I'm starting to sway her.. I would say 90% of dds wardrobe is black gray white and beige. I tend to dress dd like a little adult though.

Lol, I hear ya! I don't really do black either. I will do gray though. And the only animal prints she wears is from gifts. I like baby girl clothes - rosebuds and things like that.

I think you're right lol! I remember my grandmother frowning about me wearing a (modest) black cocktail dress to a sweet 16 when I was in high school.

Dressing little girls in black
I have a lot of black and grey for DD. Especially now that the cool weather is here. I'm just drawn to it.

Re: Dressing little girls in black
My dd is 7, but I've always loved her in all black. It's not a look I do every day, but every now and then its fine.
I see more darker colors in the fall/winter.

Re: Dressing little girls in black
I like black paired with another color. I would be fine with a polka dot or stripe, but I am not sure that I would dress dd in all black from head to toe. I don't care for animal prints so neither one of us wear them.

Dressing little girls in black
DD wears a lot of gray with light blue and she does have some black clothes and headbands. I think it's cute.

I like it, black with hot pink or teal, some animal prints. Evan all black. It can be cute if done right.

Dressing little girls in black
I don't mind black, DD always has black leggings and a few shirts with Black in it, but I'm more into the look of Gap clothes for girls. I don't do frilly, pink stuff either. But what look I really hate is JUSTICE! All the bright colors, animal prints, it's tacky looking.

Re: Dressing little girls in black
I don't see an issue with black and grey. Usually we don't pair them together. If its a shirt we can do bright colored pants or if its a skirt or pants we can do the color on the top. Mine are all into dressing themselves and what matches. So having the black and grey are staples in my house so they match most of the time.

I use to say this too because I was NEVER a fan of pink (I actually REALLY dislike pink) and then..............I had a DD. She rocks pink and as much as I don't like the color, it really does look SO cute on little girls.

Same here. HATED pink with a passion now that I have dd she rocks it almost every day. Daycare wants the kids to wear pink from breast chance awareness of Mon and I laughed because more than likely she will already be wearing something pink.

Re: Dressing little girls in black
Riiiiiiight? No pink! NO PINK.. what happened, my daughter's room is overflowing in pink!
frankly I don't care anymore. Whatever
Black, blue, pink, purple.. more importantly - Does it fit and is it clean?
When she was 2 and under tho, I'd get some cool stuff in the boys section cause they were cute! Girls can wear blue with cartoon monsters (cute ones) on it, boys can't necessarily wear pink with butterflies. LOL

Re: Dressing little girls in black
My wardrobe is mostly black (because I look thinner in it), but for my kids, I buy things with color & appliqués.
I also no longer look cute in hot pink
