Gourmet sandwich suggestions?
I'm having a lunch and I want to make a few different gourmet type sandwiches to offer. Any suggestions or recipes for easy gourmet sandwiches?

Re: Gourmet sandwich suggestions?
I love fresh mozz with fresh tomato, sundried tomatoes and basil. You could do a balsamic vinaigrette or pesto with it. DH loves grilled chicken on this type of sandwich so if you like meat heavy sandwiches over vegetarian ones, you could add it.
I also love brie and cucumber tea sandwiches.
I also like turkey, pepperjack cheese, avocado sandwiches. Anything with avocado is good.
Another easy one to make but gourmet is dressed up tuna salad (mix the tuna with lemon juice, red wine vinegar, cut up kalamata olives, capers, cut up artichoke hearts). It's the best tuna salad ever!
I would recommend looking at gourmet deli menus online and replicating what looks good to you.

These sound so good!
My favorite sandwich is breaded chicken cutlet, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella and pesto. You could serve it cold or as a panini.
I also love turkey, muenster cheese, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard - not that fancy but so good!

Re: Gourmet sandwich suggestions?
Thanks for the suggestions! Those sound great. I should have mentioned that I needed cold sandwich ideas because I won't have access to cooking.
Is there any particular type of bread, roll or wrap that you recommend for these sandwiches?

In regards to my specific suggestions:
For the mozz/tomato/basil sandwich, I would do a hero type bread. Especially if you are adding grilled chicken or using dressing like balsamic.
For brie and cucumber tea sandwiches, I would do plain (preferably toasted) white or pumpernickel slices.
For turkey, pepperjack cheese, avocado type sandwiches you could do wraps if you want to mix it up or ciabatta bread. Or you could also use hero type/italian bread if you'd rather use the same types of breads.
For the tuna salad, any baguette would be good for that.
However, in general, french baguettes, italian bread, semolina bread, ciabatta bread, wraps, kaiser rolls, etc. would all be good choices. I would suggest mixing it up for looks and variety, but you could a lot of the same if you wanted.

My favorite is grilled chicken cutlet with fried eggplant, red roasted peppers, mozerella, and balsamic.

I love Brie and Tukey or ham in croissant. Or like others mentioned caprese type sand which. Baguettes are yummy for cold sandwiches.
Or make wraps with those laughing cow spreadable cheese wedges and a cold cut and then slice them about an inch apart. To make round little finger sandwiches.

I love any kind of chicken salad made with nuts and fruit (apples, grapes, cranberries). It's usually chunky, so a wrap or pita would prob be best.

I was going to suggest this too. I'm not a fan of chicken salad but my parents could live off the cranberry chicken salad from our local deli.
You could do BLTs with avocado on a hearty sliced bread.
Brie with ham or turkey and apples or pear would be yummy too. You could do those in a wrap.
Any kind of salad in a wrap would work too. Greek, caesar, mesculin, etc with grilled chicken.

Maybe you could recreate that turkey cranberry flatbread from Panera. I just saw the commercial and I haven't had dinner yet looks so yummy!

I also second the croissant rec. I remember getting this when I was a little kid at a restaurant and thinking it was so fancy.
It's such an indulgence as an adult now because I know there's like a million calories in the bread.

Gourmet sandwich suggestions?
I love high quality imported prosciutto, fresh mozz, tomatoes and a touch of oil and vinegar on a nice semolina bread (can even add chicken cutlet).
I had great sandwich for Hale & Hearty the other day...turkey, shaved parmesan and lemon aioli...it was delish.
I think it's usually the dressings and the bread that really jazz up a sandwich. Put roast beef on ciabatta with sweet onion aioli or chicken on olive bread with hummus and you become the galloping gourmet!
