Sliding doors in bedroom
We are slowly updating our home and eventually plan on selling it.
Its 3 bedroom/2 bathrooms. We currently have our 2 and 5 year old sharing a room. We may separate them but I kind of like them sharing a room still.
The 3 bedroom has a sliding door to a sun room. It's an older sun room and I would like to keep and put some out door play stuff in there for the kids or maybe a table and chairs. Right now we just use it for storage since we are renovating.
The 3rd bedroom is next. We are trying to decide if we should take the sliding door out. We most likely will use the room as a play area for the kids. I'm torn because if we wind up staying longer and separate the kids the sliding door would bother me.
What would you do? Close off the door? Just wondering..TY!

Re: Sliding doors in bedroom
As long as there is another convenient way to get into the sunroom I would close off the sliding door .

Sliding doors in bedroom
I would close it off. In terms of resale, I don't think anyone would miss it and for others I think it would be a turn off. I wouldn't want outside access in any bedroom other than the master.

Re: Sliding doors in bedroom
I rented my moms condo for a bit and DDs room was a converted den so it had the sliders. Honestly I really liked it because she got great sunlight in there during the day and it's an escape route. Now that we're in a 2 story home I constantly worry about God forbid getting out in a fire. I don't know if that's crazy but it's a huge concern.

You should get a fire escape ladder. Growing up we always had one in the bottom of our linen closet just in case.

Yeah that's a good idea. I will get one.
