It gets VERY crowded there, and if he hasn't had his vaccinations yet, I would definitely be skipping it.

Just know that the vaccinations they receive are for things like polio, hep b, etc. So even if they are fully vaccinated it isn't going to protect them from the most common things we pick up in public like colds and flu. I feel like that is such a huge fallacy when people say to keep the babies in until they get vaccinated. And they aren't FULLY vaccinated for years. DD at 4 is STILL getting shots.
IMO if you keep him in a carrier close to your body or an infant seat with a light blanket over it- you should be ok
But I am pretty laid back

Exactly. When my dd was born, I didn't take her out in public til 6 weeks. Just keep them covered up & warm. You will be fine. I would go early so by the time it gets crowded, you can be heading out.

I would do it but I would just be super cautious about people coming by the baby. Like a PP said, maybe put a light blanket on the baby to cover him/her.

Not worth it to me, it's crowded from before it officially opens. Gets difficult to walk around the crowds at points. I wouldn't do it with a 1 month old.... with a 3-4 month old, yes... and I would probably use a stroller instead of a carrier simply because you are going to have to park very far away.

Vaccinating will provide no protect for colds and regular sicknesses. However I wouldn't go because it is SO hard to find parking and so so crowded and would be too much for me. Esp if nursing!

Re: oyster bay festival w/ a 1mo old
Having grown up in the area I am quite familiar with the festival. It has grown so much larger and every year gets more and more crowded. Honestly, I would not take a one month old to it. I did take my one month old ds out to Rosh Hashanah services and wore him the entire time. That was about 300 people and it was insane. This is about 10,000 plus people. Sorry, I would not go this year.

I've taken DS when he was 6 months old. Obviously that age is totally different than just a month old. Personally I would still go but keep baby in snap n go with a blanket over.

If we go with our 2 month old, I'll probably take our stroller with car seat snapped in. I have a sun cover for the infant seat that makes me feel like she is a little protected.

I took my infant daughter last year in the bjorn. It gets very crowded and to try and push a stroller through can be very tough.

I would not go. One month is very young IMO. I am not talking about the vaccinations but we are entering into Flu season, This entero virus is lingering around, not worth it. If the baby was 12 weeks ok. But I feel like 4 is way too young for crowds at that capacity.
