complaints after home renovations
hi all: i moved into my house a year ago, at which time we had major renovations done to the bathroom and kitchen. everyday, i find something else wrong or that i am not happy about (a hole left in the wall, cracked glass in the cabinet etc). what is the statue of limitations on something like this? if i call my contractor now-- a year after renovations were completed-- and tell them that the caulk was clearly never applied correctly in my bathtub niche and there is a hole into the wall, will they think I am crazy?! please advise. thanks!

I wouldn't. You have to consider the length of time, the house settling which can cause cracks. You can always re caulk yourself. Nothing is going to look pristine a year later. If these were things you noticed during or right at the end of construction I would have said something then.

We just did n extension and our contractor guaranteed his work for a year. I would check your contract.

This.
A nice contractor may be willing to swing by, but DH updates our caulk ever couple of years.
I also wouldn't blame a cracked piece of glass on a contractor a year later. You have no proof of that and it could've been someone in your family, a pet, etc.
Welcome to the reality of being a homeowner. Many of the things you mentioned are easy enough to fix yourself.

Re: complaints after home renovations
We bought a new construction home, we were waiting for he CofO to come in from the state to close. This was 2.5 years ago and last year DH re-caulked one bathroom, when we painted so many nail heads popped and we had to fix that, we had a crack in the corner of he kitchen. This is home ownership. The only thing I might question is the hole. What is the hole from and where is it?

Cracked glass and caulk after a year....I would never call. I work in construction and I think I would laugh if someone called for that. Caulk is not a permanent thing....it will start to peel and need to be replaces. A crack in the glass....chances are it is not because of workmanship if it was not cracked and then all of a sudden cracked a year later.
A hole in the wall......That maybe but did you not do a walk through at the end of the job? A hole should be noticeable.
