for those of you that are remarried

I just called my sons school as he has a dr's appointment and I have to take him out early. I wrote a note as well. My name is changing in May when I get married. Do you use your new name or just say the same name since its easier then explaining lol...I have a 5th and 10th grader.

I don't have the same last name as my son (but did) and I've never had an issue. Sometimes they call me Mrs. Sonslastname but that's probably out of habit.

I am not remarried but went back to my maiden name.

My mom just kept her last name so it would be the same. Felt like it was easier

I use my name. If its someone who is not familiar with me like the teacher or nurse (lol) then I'll just say Jodi B...., Rebecca M's mom.

I'm remarried and have a new name...different from my son's. The school KNOWS my last name is different yet when they call me they refer to me as Mrs. sonslastname. i dont bother correcting them. i never wanted to have a different last name from my son anyway so it doesn't bother me.

I never changed my name. The teachers who know me well call me "Mrs. Maidenname" the school nurse and the pediatrician always call me "Mrs. Son'slastname" When I call anyone, I always say, "This is Firstname Lastname, _____'s mom". I have never had a problem.
