Breast pumps
I plan on exclusively breast feeding my ds. I never pumped with my dd but now that I will have a newborn and 2 older kids I need to be able to leave breast milk at home. What is a good pump to get? I don't need a fancy one but I would like an electric one. What's a good mid line pump for occasional pumping. I called my insurance and they are not covered.

Re: Breast pumps
I'm surprised your insurance doesn't cover it? I thought it was the new law.
I used the Medela dbl electric pump; I have to look online for the style/model.
No complaints; got me through 13 months of breastfeeding/pumping.

City of NY GHI is not covered. They are excluded bc their plan is grandfathered in or some bs.

From what I understand, even grandfathered plans have to abide by the rules, but they have a grace period.
Either way, I have to get mine thru DW's insurance.
Also, EVERYONE i ask and EVERYWHERE i read online says Medela double is the way to go.

I think that's the one I used! No complaints at all. Just a little heavy carrying it back and forth from work!

All this. Last time bc I knew I didn't plan to pump often I went with an inexpensive Lansinoh manual pump. It had amazing reviews everywhere I looked. I tried it without much success and after having to feed DD the bottle I just pumped bc it took me so long to get an ounce or two I decided to get the double electric pis. I pumped 2-3 times a week at most but it was nice to put on the hands free bra and be able to play with DD or fold laundry, etc. If this LO is an efficient nurser and is satisfied feeding on one side I may try out the manual again just so I can use it while I feed DC on the other side.

Re: Breast pumps
My insurance will not cover breast pumps either. I have read amazing reviews about the Spectra brand, and it is a lot cheaper then the other hospital grade pumps.
