Back labor?

With twin DD's, in the hospital, i had back llabor so I don't really know what contractions feel like. How do you know if you're in labor early on? Aside from back pain, that is.

I had no idea I was in labor. I had some tightening in my abdomen, but it felt like braxton hicks to me - no real pain. I kept an eye on the clock and then realized they were VERY regular - less than 4 minutes apart. I had my DS a few hours later.

Tightening in my lower abdomen that would come and go. It got more intense and painful and regular slowly over the course of about 24 hours.

I was actually going to ask what back labor feels like? Is it just general back pain, or "contractions" just across your back??

I am 37 weeks 4 days with twins and had the most intense back pain all night last night. Barely slept.... I feel better now that I am up and moving but I seriously can't do that again tonight. I have also been having intense pain in my LOW abdomen and pelvic region everytime I stand or walk.... I seriously wish my water would just break!!

I had stomach pains I thought were from eating too much (it was supposed to be my last meal before being induced the next day). Once I started watching the clock I realized it was happening exactly 7 minutes apart and realized that they were contractions.

I had an emergency c/s w my twins so I never went into full labor. With DS#3, at 36 weeks I woke up with horrible pains in my lower back, so bad I didn't think I could deal with the train so I drove to work. I was also having some cramping in my stomach but wrote it all off bc I was only 36 weeks. As the day progressed, the pains in my back were unbearable so I finally called my dr who told me I was nuts for going to work and to get to the hospital ASAP. I had to drive out to LI to get DH and then back to LIJ. They admitted me and saiid I was def in labor and DS was born (via c/s) an hour later. I assumed I wasn't in labor bc my water never broke but I was wrong.

I only had back labor till I delivered. It felt like someone was twisting my tail bone and trying to rip it out of my back every few minutes.

Back labor?

Mine was just severe back pain with a little tugging in the front. Since I was being closely monitored in the hospital, I had an internal exam each morning. I went from 1cm to 5 cm overnight. I slept through it all and woke up to severe back pain at 6am. By 1pm I had a c-section to deliver my twins.
