Can anyone recommend an excellent FEEDING therapist in Nassau?
My 2 y.o. twins were both just approved for services but I haven't had the follow-up meeting yet with the DSS coordinator.
TIA.
Neither of them chew, instead they suck their food until it's soft enough to swallow.
Low oral muscle tone.
Poor sensory awareness in mouth leading to overstuffing.
Cannot suck from straw.
Dribble when drinking from cup.
One gags when eating/drinking.

Luisa Ferrara at Winthrop is wonderful, but I don't know if she does EI services.

EI. The agency that did our eval doesn't have any so looking for a new agency. The EI coordinator just referred us to another agency today but I haven't started yet.

My son is working with Susan at CW Post who has been great so far. He was evaluated at St. Mary's in Roslyn by a woman named Brynn who was a amazing but just a little too far for us.

Been using http://www.lispeechandmyo.com/
in Wantagh for almost a year for feeding. My son has SPD with SEVERE oral aversions. They are great with him.. They take private insurance. I only pay a co-pay...
