Anatomy Scan Tomorrow

Having my anatomy scan done tomorrow afternoon at LIJ. A few questions for those of you who have already had it:

1) About how long does the scan take?
2) Is the scan done by a sonogram tech? Is this a doctor in the room?
3) If something comes up that is abnormal/possibly abnormal, will someone tell you during the appointment?

Anatomy Scan Tomorrow

1) depends on how cooperative baby is, mine was 45 minutes and I had to come back the next day for them to get a look at ds's heart... Which took another 45 minutes.
2) I can only speak for mine, which were done at LIJ, the tech did the Sono then the doc came in after and viewed more and discussed with me.
3) for mine, yes, they noticed that my placenta was low-lying and informed me of such at the time.

When I had mine with DS 3 years ago, here's what I remember (it wasn't done at LIJ though)....
1) LONG ----- they literally measure and look at every part of the body. Leave yourself a good hour to hour and a half window
2) Sono tech did the majority. MD came in towards the end to review everything
3) I didn't have anything come up abnormal, but I would imagine they would discuss it with you at that time. And it would, obviously, be the MD that would discuss it with you

It's honestly the best appt, IMO. You see everything and if you have a good sono tech they tell you everything they're looking at. Good luck tomorrow!!!

Had mine at LIJ (MFM group). It was done by the tech but the doctor came in after to scan as well.

I think I waited 20 mins in the waiting area and the actual scan took about 45 minutes in all(sono tech and MFM).
I had to come back for another look at the heart (which was fine it was just the way DD was laying). I was high risk so I was there weekly anyway for scans.
