best and worst xmas memory?
We were just talking about this on another board Im on. What is your best and worst Christmas memory?
For me, the ONE gift I VIVIDLY remember getting was the Barbie Dreamhouse. I still remember walking down the stairs and seeing it set up in the living room near the piano. It was the best gift as a child I ever received. I was never more excited, I think I cried!
Worst: my Grandma passed away in the early hours of Christmas when I was a junior in HS. I remember all of us opening our presents and then after, my parents called us into the other room and sat us down and told us that Grandma has passed away. Talk about the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, all at once. As an adult I look back and wonder how they held it together while we opened our gifts knowing my father had just lost his mother and knowing when it was over, they had to tell us.

Re: best and worst xmas memory?
Worst one I was 11 or 12, being told by my parents that they were getting a divorce on Christmas Day They were always so considerate
Best was my first married Christmas. We had it at our new home & my whole family & extended family came. Some very special people who have since passed were there & it was just a great mix of immediate & extended family. Runner up is getting the Lego Monorail :)

best and worst xmas memory?
Best...I was 8 and my mom let me pick out a wallet to give my dad for Christmas. I had the idea to photcopy both sides of a $100 bill, paste them together and put them in the wallet. My mom copied a bill for me, I pasted it, put it in the wallet and wrapped it. On Christmas morning, my dad unwrapped his wallet and there was a real $100 in it. I remember being so shocked. Luckily, my parents filmed my reaction.
Worst...we used to travel into Brooklyn for Christmas Eve. When I was 9, we came home and it was late. My brother was 19 and told me to help carry down the gifts because I was too big to believe in Santa. I cried myself to sleep that night.

best and worst xmas memory?
Worst ... one year myvmother told me to put stuff in my sisters stocking, that she was too old... another my mother and grandma got into a big fight, and my father drove my grandma home as my mother was so upset. Third the last xmas eve we saw d.h. one family, was so bitter, the complete opposite of tv xmas it use to be.
Best.... every xmas eith my kid/kids. Seeing how excited they get. Before they were born when I started dating d.h. there was a big xmas eve celebration we would go to. So many cousins, aunts uncles I called it a big tv xmas.

Re: best and worst xmas memory?
Best - feeling like I was going to ralph in the middle of Christmas dinner - not understanding why - and then finding out a week or so later that it was because I was pregnant with this guy...
Worst - my beloved Grandaddy passed away right before Christmas. The good part is he was 90 years old and 110% until the end. He was so happy to make it to 90 and left this world very content with his life

best and worst xmas memory?
Best: I had many great Christmas memories, my parents always made it special for us and got us the big gifts we wanted. I remember getting the barbie dream house and playing with it for hours.
Worst: 2 years ago on Christmas my sister passed away suddenly at 37 years old.

best and worst xmas memory?
Best: I think the reaction from my son this year might top them all. He has been asking for a toy since the summer and I keep telling him it's too big and we don't have the room in the house for it.....I bought it on Sunday. He is going to LOVE IT!!!
Worst: I really don't have a memory that stands out for me. I am guessing I had ones I didn't like as a kid but nothing that I can remember so I consider myself pretty lucky

Chanukkah here- Best is 2- The first year I was married my DH and I decided we would give eachother 8 gifts. One night could be a candy bar. But its a nice tradition.
Other best was when I was 8?9? I WANTED a ken doll SO bad, and that's what I got.
Worst: nothing in particular.

Re: best and worst xmas memory?
My worst was my niece was 7 and she got bells palsy on xmas eve. We ended up spending hours in the ER with my sister.
Best was when I was little my sisters and I would all take a bath and get in our xmas pjs and my dad would read Twas the Night Before Christmas to us before we went to bed on xmas eve. I convinced my DH to do that for our girls too.

Best: Pretty much every Christmas as a child. My parents and grandparents always made it so magical and fun.
Worst: Pretty much every Christmas since my mom passed 4 days before Christmas in 2010.

Re: best and worst xmas memory?
I really don't have any bad Christmas memories. But, the best ones have been since DD was born. I have SO much fun buying her stuff and seeing her face when she opens them.
