DOH Grant Questions

Went to see Dr. Brenner at LIIVF today to discuss our next plan of action if this fourth Clomid/IUI cycle does not work. Brenner really wanted me to do IVF next but my DH shot down that idea because insurance does not cover IVF and just IUI. So he would rather not put ourselves in a hole especially when IVF is not 100% guarantee, and stick to IUI's and just switch meds Chat Icon

The advisor told us of the DOH Grant we can look into to see if that would work with lowering the cost. Has anyone done this? How does it work? How much out of pocket did you have to pay after the grant?

Re: DOH Grant Questions

It all depends on your income. They need a copy of your tax return (1040) to decipher. Basically the more income you make the less NYS will pay and vice versa.

But regardless; it's worth it because there is still a percentage paid. Anything is Better than the whole cost.

Ask them for the breakdown sheet. One column shows the combined salary and next to it is the percentage it covers. I believe LIIVF total IVF cost without coverage is $12,500.

So anything less is a Bonus!!!

I would ask the Dr./billing what it is out of pocket. You may wind up paying the same in meds for IUI anyway. Some get lucky & get prego first time. I know MANY LADIES that it took 5,6 & 7 times.

There is no guarentee for anything but with IVF your odds surely go up

I don't kno ur situation, but grant for me was approx $5700 cost for ivf...but if income is too high you won't qualify. I'm not sure where ur located but I loved dr. San roman in smithtown for iui...I didn't work for me but until a grant was available we tried that. I would sit down with the advisor at Liivf she will give u exact cost.
