To those that continue to battle infertility.....

Thinking of you all during this season. It stings- this time of year- the Christmas Cards being sent, buying toys for my niece/nephews... the pregnancy announcements on here and at work- it all is too much at times. I am trying to stay positive and motivated to move forward but its very difficult.


Here's to getting through this holiday season and Cheers to a fertile 2015!!!!!!!

I'm going to be honest when I kept having failed cycles back when I was with North Shore I used to sink into an almost depression like state when someone got a BFP off their very first cycle. Like WTF! You want to be happy for them, but you can't at the same time. After my consult with my current RE and him wanting to get started right away I had to take a break. I had to get into a right state of mind before continuing (almost 6months). I went to acupuncture which helped me deal with the stress and tension. It was an outlet for me until it got too expensive(ha).

Ugh, thanks for posting this...it's similar to how i feel. I want to try again so bad, but I need to get through this time of year and decide what I'm going to do.
I am going to start acupuncture after the new year and I am going to try and have my husband get on board as well! Maybe try for a few months on our own and then go back to the RE, or hopefully not (doubtful , but not giving up hope that some way I will get preggo again).
Have a great holiday ladies. Taking time away from this board to process whats been going on!

I so get this and the difficulty....I badly wanted to do an FET this month so that I was at least doing something over Christmas but my body is not cooperating and I have to wait maybe a month or two.....which gives me way too much time to think n get depressed and worried.

I hate all of this and wish we could see an empty board on here next year because IF sucks!!!

Definitely how i'm feeling right now... my three closest friends at work are all pregnant. one just got pregnant on her honeymoon.

I just wanted to write a note of encouragement for those who are still struggling to follow your instincts and stay on your path, wherever that leads.

I felt that sting from girls on here announcing pregnancies from first IVFs and IUIs when I had already fought so hard, and it seemed it would never be my turn. I even had some of the posters on this board insinuate, talk to me like I was some kind of desperado. But I felt deep in my gut that something was amiss, unexplained, and I had to find it; that adoption, etc. was not my path. I sought out the best care, halfway across the country and then in New Jersey, and after 5 long years, we celebrate this Christmas with the best gift imaginable, the hope that this little heart will keep beating!

But there were so many points when I felt I couldn't go on or when I had no more mental energy to rack my brain trying to figure out the next move, whether it was donor eggs, or a surrogate, or a new doctor, or giving up entirely. In those moments I would lay low to replenish my stores, nurture my marriage, lean on my therapist and yoga, lick my wounds, dig deep into my intuition and research.

Just keep hope that you will get through this and end up somewhere that will be okay.
