I realize this is broad but anyone know how much this should run? Best case and worst case. Not sure yet if its a weight bearing/support wall.

Thinking of doing the "unthinkable" and making my three bedroom a two bedroom.

We have a ranch and considering this as well. Might shift closets around (third bedroom) and expand master bedroom. Don't know of cost as we are doing it DIY.

Our plan was to make both rooms bigger as we only have 1 child

If it is not a load bearing wall then you can do it yourself if you are even somewhat handy. Demo is easy and then its some drywall patch and flooring and paint.

Just be prepared if you do want to sell you will need to put the wall back up if you want to sell it at a 3 bed (2 beds do not sell very well).

I made my 4 bed into a 3 but its a cape and IMO better off as a 3 bed with dining room than a 4 bed no dining room.

We aren't the slightest bit handy. Like, we can barely operate a hammer and we don't really have the time or desire to DIY.

Yup, I realize 2 bedroom homes are less desirable but I want to do what's best for us today. I feel like so much space is being wasted on this spare bedroom....Not really concerned about resale, will cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

Other costs to factor in are electrical, plumbing, HVAC if any of these are inside that wall. Your best best is to get a few quotes from licensed contractors.
