pottery barn furniture
I love the look and style of PBK furniture. We have the Kendall set in our nursery. That said, I wouldn't buy it for any other reason. IMO, the quality does not match the price tag and the customer service is terrible. I had a bad experience with our crib, first the hardware was missing from the box, we called numerous times asking to be sent hardware. Weeks later the package arrived and it was missing a screw! Three or four additional follow up calls and sixs weeks later they finally sent new hardware. Everything worked out in the end but it was joke dealing with them.
If you're looking for long term furniture that will grow with you're LO I'd probably look else where. I think PBK is made with pine or other soft wood and dings/scratches easily.
Also, if youre open to it. I'd check out the outlet or go to the walt whitman location. I've seen floor models for sale at 50% off.

Re: pottery barn furniture
Over the summer I ordered Pbk furniture for my son. It took numerous failed deliveries where they never showed up, and about 20 hours on the phone trying to get the furniture delivered. I like the furniture because it is dovetail joined and my son is happy but getting it here was a nightmare. I also have furniture from land of nod and it is better made, out of more solid hardwoods, and their customer service was outstanding.

Re: pottery barn furniture
If I could do it again I'd get my kids furniture from Ikea - I swear. My frist son has Stanley which has held up HORRIBLY (and was $$$$) my second son has PBK which has help up a bit better, but it's nothing to brag about and IMO not at all worth the price tag.
MY bedroom is still the Ikea we bought 'for now' that I'm just keeping until whenever b/c I LIKE it - it's in perfect condition and the drawers are deep and huge !!

Re: pottery barn furniture
Back when I purchased my kids nursery and bedroom furniture from pottery barn kids (it's been a number of years now - 7 for the nursery and 4 for the bigger furniture) - each collection was designed and manufactured by different vendors (that is what I was even told) so the quality varied vastly among the collections. I remember going to the store and some of the cribs were extremely flimsy while the one I purchased was the sturdiest crib I found in ANY store. I bought the Larkin collection - the sleigh crib, the dresser with side drawer and changing table - the crib was used for two children and is now a toddler bed and the dresser with the changing attached removed is still in use. None of it has a scratch or a chip and all looks brand new and, I will say that my kids are hard on furniture! The sleigh crib was so sturdy you couldn't even shake or move it if a grown adult tried. I also found their customer service to be amazing back then. When it was time to use the mattress for #2 it had some bumps in it and they sent me a new one for free - no questions asked. HTH!
ETA: Just checked on their website and they no longer have the Larkin collection so the above is pretty moot!

Re: pottery barn furniture
Our DS's set is from PBK! We bought the Kendall crib, tall dresser and nightstand. I absolutely love the set and its beautiful. Yes it is more expensive, but felt it was worth it.
I had no problems with their delivery or customer service either. All very helpful.

Re: pottery barn furniture
I love my daughters PBK furniture. We have the Blythe crib & dresser. I had a great experience with customer service. My mom was at my house for the first delivery. She signed off on the order. I got home and noticed a chip in the dresser. I called them up and they set up a new date to come and pick up old dresser and replaced it with a brand new one, no questions asked.
