Panorama Test Cost?!?!?!?

Hey Ladies,

Just got my explanation of benefits from my panorama test and it says that i owe $3,357.20.

I called both my doctor and insurance before taking the test and they said worse case situation would be that I would owe 20% of the test, which would be around $200.

I am currently number 7 waiting to talk to the labs billings department!!!! This stuff drives me crazy....has this happened to anyone else?

I have dealt with this yet, but my midwife said I will get a big bill and not to freak out. They negotiate it down to around what you said. Like $200. Eta: this thread freaked me out so I called panorama and they confirmed that they put it through to your insurance but if the insurance rejects the claim they settle the claim for you for a fee of $145.

Update- Talked to them on the phone, one second they said I had to owe $145, but then when I told her I was from NY she said I don't owe anything......very strange, but I won't ask.....

When I spoke to them they told me it was over $3k and they wouldn't reduce it so I cancelled my appt to have it done. Maybe I should call my dr office again about this. I would pay 200 for the rest, not $3k!

I originally owed $11k b/c they put it through as OON. Once they corrected it, I only had to pay a $40 copay.
