Has anyone ever been to a wedding in Florida
and worn black? I have a wedding in March, and the dress I want to wear is black. I've already been scolded by my SIL once for wearing black down there, because apparently people in Florida don't wear black. Is this true...is it a faux pas? Just curious.

Has anyone ever been to a wedding in Florida
I went to a wedding in FL last month and wore black - and so did a whole bunch of other women. Never even crossed my mind that it would be an issue, and it wasn't.

Went to a wedding in FL in August and wore black. I nearly passed out lol. Outdoor wedding + black = bad idea on my part. But beyond that, no problems.

What? I'm from NY. I don't care when I go, black is always appropriate.
There are 2 colors/situations you avoid
Wearing White to a Wedding, and wearing red to a funeral.
I can't think of ANY instance where you shouldn't wear black.
...and to be honestl, when you go somewhere and dress 'like them' you're dressing like a stereotype ........people who insist on wearing only pastels and 'beachy' clothing if FL should put a flashing neon 'toursit' sign on their head. -
Wear what you're comfortable in - I went to colelge a U Miami ........it was 85 degrees and the locals were wearing jeans and sweaters on the streets, after spending the day on the beach in a bikini ......because it was October ........I personaly thought they looked stupid b/c it was 85 degrees .......but there's your proof.
let youir SIL worry about her own wardrobe.

Has anyone ever been to a wedding in Florida
I live in FL.. Never heard of that one. Been to several weddings, it's def not a faux pas. I wore a black strapless jcrew sun dress on a beach wedding in the keys too. Wore black to a hotel wedding too. It's 1000% fine.

I live in FL too and have never heard of such a thing! I wear black all the time.
The only thing that threw me off down here after living in NY for so long was that it was also ok to wear white all year round.
