Car seat for 5 year old...
What does everyone recommend for a 5 year old? My pediatrician recommends being in a harnessed booster for as long as possible, so I think I'm looking for a harnessed booster that converts to seat belt booster.

I just switched my 5.5 year old from the harness on my Graco Nautulis -
If you're getting a harness, I'd take him to the store with you and click him into them - MANY of them do not work well between their legs ........I had to switch mine to the seatbelt .....and he's average height. Not really tall at all -

We had/still have the Nautilus. My one DC was in the 5pt until 6, and then switched to the seatbelt. with it.

Car seat for 5 year old...
my DS has been in the Evenflo Symphony 65 since he's 18 months and will be in it until he's 100lbs. he's 5 now. i LOVE it! but it's a 3-in-1. i just bought the Graco Highback Turbo Booster for my MIL's car

At 5, I had DD still in her Britax Marathon. Switched her out of it to a high back booster around 6.5yrs old. And that was only cause she was really complaining that she was like a baby, and all her friends sat in regular booster seats.
