First Appt at LI IVF today
Today is our first appointment at LI IVF after finding out that male factor infertility, specifically Azoospermia leaves us with IVF as our only hope. I am seeing Dr Keningsberg and DH is seeing Dr. Sheynkin. Can anyone tell me what to expect or suggest any questions we should ask? I have been dreaming about this all night and got very little sleep. Feel free to share your first experiences there or anywhere. Thanks!

Hi, I used to go there until I switched . I would suggest before going to an RE to get more than one opinion. What led you to LI IVF ? Was it because it is most convienent or did someone tell you about them ?

My husbands urologist works with them and he is very well known for treating this condition. My husband has to have surgery by this dr so finding the best urologist was what I was more concerned with.We have seen two other urologists before him and they were horrible. I have heard great things about LI IVF and also mixed reviews. Why did you switch?

First Appt at LI IVF today
Hey, I was there for 1.5 years , my husband's cousin reccomended them and had a couple babies by them so I didn't go to any others and went right there . I did get pregnant but had a miscarriage and an ectopic. I decided to switch after my first ivf. I don't want to sway yor opinion because different dr and practices are for different people. I used Dr K and felt very intimidated by him, wasn't very approachable . Also I didn't like the factory feel there . It is a very large practice with tons of dr and nurses and you see diff people all the time . Also they were very cookie cutter not really individualozed. Although everyone going has infertiliry it is all for different reasons so all should be treated differently. My case is a little more complex it sounds where both byaelf and my husband have issues . And the last two things were when I had my retrieval I happened to get dr k bec he happen to be the one doing them that day, they have like 6 dr and they all take turns so you never know who you will get. Then the day if transfer I saw him at the office and asked if he was doing it he said no and I said can you and he said no . So another dr did it and dos not know my body and it took way longer and was made much more difficult . So that upset me . Then the last thing was after I had my miscarriage instead of sayig for me to come in so we can test further or see what can be done all he said was ok so call when u get ur period and we will do another ivf . For me that was all I needed to hear . So I took some time and then did some research and found a new practice I absolutely love . That has one dr whd much more thorough. One thing is you must be your own advocate , ask tons of questions and it's ok for you to question what they are saying . Hope it all works out for you.

I went there and was very happy. I originally was there for IVF in 2009 and had twins. I went back last year after not being able to conceive #4. The staff were all terrific. I loved my doctor. The nurses are great.
At the initial appointment, they asked me a zillion questions. They did an internal exam and took a lot of blood----be ready! To me, it was exciting and gave me lots of hope. Also, my doctor came up with a game plan for me.....went over all of the necessary tests with me and we came up with a timeline. My dr always called to check in with me and would give me options----"Do you want to try a more aggressive or less aggressive approach this month?" Everyone knew me there. Yes, there are a bunch of doctors, but too me, that was helpful.
Good luck today! I'm sure others will chime in who also loved that practice.

She asked me why I switched so I told Her . If you read my post you will see I said everyone had their own opinions and to be your own advocate. Maybe you liked and had luck with your dr as my husband's cousin did. I did not . Everyone should be treated as an individual not treating different people with different issues the same way. And I have proof of this . You are entitled to yor own opinion. But by going to another re who is so much more through with new techniques it was a breath of fresh air . Some people have luck and some don't wnd everyone has different experiences .

What skinny said. I switched TO Li IVF after I felt my old re was just money hungry.
I never saw different people there and developed relationships with the nurses and techs. My dr called me all the time and more then once called to offer his condolences on a m/c. They got me pregnant and then after two m/c, figured out how to keep me pregnant. I've referred countless people there, who have all been happy with their treatment.
To each his own, but I got stellar treatment, never felt like I didn't matter, and have my gorgeous 4 month old from them.
Definitely bring questions and be ready for an internal exam.

First Appt at LI IVF today
I go to LI IVF and see Dr. Kreiner. I would not be swayed by reviews since everyone has a different issue and personality. You click with some, not with others. I like Dr. Kreiner. I can email him with any and all questions and he always gets back to me, usually that day. Is he the warm, fuzzy, type, NO. But I rather have a Dr. that is going to be up front and not beat around the bush, than rub my back the whole way.
I also find the nurses to be very nice, and they work with you. If I have a schedule issue they work with me. I am all for 2nd & 3rd opinions, but do not let someone elses opinion sway you. See for yourself.

I disagree. I thought she was being very honest about her experience. She mentioned her cousin had success there but she did not.
In the end you have to go with your gut and trust your instincts about a doctor or practice.

From half the things that are sometimes written on these posts; I do not find this post Strong or harsh for that matter at all. Although I am not sure what your definition of too strong is.
She was not bashing the place or the doctors; which some do. I was a patient of LIIVF; for the most part; my experience was somewhat decent. I have my favorites and my least favorites there.......
I just take it as a person giving her own experience; ; which to me wasn't the greatest; which I also can understand.

Thanks for agreeing . I was not bashing you are right . All I know is a lot of people go into this thinking it will be easy and don't realize all that is involved . Most people go to a dr out of convienence , and I have learned there is more than that. There are so many things I wished I asked then and never did . But now I am much wiser and experienced and Trying to help others out there . But I think there are people at all the practices that love them or hate them or indifferent and have their favorite doctors as well.

 I agree with you about most of what you said. About this practice. You have a right to your opinion. Your opinion was not too strong at all.

New kid on the block.. Hi all, I've read a lot of u said you switch office. Ei from live to rsny. When u do so do u go thru the same financial procedure ? Do u get reimbursed? Or do u lose out
