Am I in labor?
I have been having horrible back pain for a couple of months w contractions. I was always sent home to rest. Today, the pain is on another level. I can barely walk and I have cramping and tons of pressure with nausea. Dr said to go to hospital if the contractions are 5 min apart. Right now they are painful but sporadic. I am 35 weeks. Is this the start of labor?

Could be the start or could be false labor. At the class I took this weekend they stressed the regularity and pattern of labor contractions. So if they are happening every 20 minutes it may be the start, if it's sporadic, one then another 20 minutes later, then 30 mins, then 5 mins it's likely false labor. HTH..good luck!

I would call your dr if you are in terrible pain.

My dr always told me it's time when: - 5 mins or less between contractions - you cannot talk through them
I would call just to be on the safe side.

I would call for sure if you haven't already. I think more than 5 or 6 contractions in an hour when you're preterm means you should call. Could be something, could just be the fact that the end of pregnancy sucks! I had DD at 35 weeks and had been having contractions and felt awful all day. When I was checked I wasn't dilated so it wasn't actually labor (although I delivered anyway bc of unrelated issues).

Also, how much water have you consumed today? Maybe you're dehydrated?

Re: Am I in labor?
If you're having cramping and can barely walk it's time to go to the hospital. Better to be safe than sorry.

Re: Am I in labor?
You should def go to your dr at the very least. With my first pregnancy, I had false labor at 35 weeks and was admitted to the hospital to get an IV and get rehydrated. Better to be safe for sure!

Am I in labor?
Definitely could be. I would call your doc. I honestly never had contractions really close together (like 5 min apart or less) or I wasn't feeling them completely. They were pretty sporadic but all within 15 min of each other and I was in labor! Got to the hospital and was already 6 cm
