504 Plan
Does anyone know if there is a certain amount of time a school has upon notification to set up a formal 504 plan for a child?

Re: 504 Plan
I believe it's 30 school days. Best to cross post to teachers and check with the Sp Ed teachers.

504 Plan
I believe its 30 days also. Did you request the 504, or did the school decide to establish one on their own?

Doctor wrote a prescription and I sent in to the principal in charge of handling 504's on 10/22/14. His teacher was also aware.
I ended up bringing it into the school last night at PTO meeting and handing to principal again...after I had an argument with one of his teachers yesterday (where it all stemmed from)

504 Plan
It's 30 days for a meeting. If you don't hear anything this week, send an email so you have a paper trail with dates on it.

Re: 504 Plan
504 plans are very different from IEPs. The federal regulations do not have any mandated timelines for implementation Your district may have internal policies, but by law there is no time frame.
