Help - Need gloves/mittens for snow that will stay on DD
DD is 5, but developmentally delayed. I took her out to play today, and she kept ripping off her mittens. I have the ones that are like weatherproof...sort of like snow gloves, but not with the individual finger holes (she will never be able to get her fingers into each hole). So is there any brand/type that are either very long so she can't pull them off easily, or is there some sort of strap I can get so she can't pull them off? I know they used to make something like that, but don't anymore because of stangulation hazard, I believe.
She'll never be able to play outside in the cold if I can't fix this. We only stayed out for a few mins today cause she would't keep them on.

What about a jacket with extension portion of the sleeve cuff that has the hole for their thumbs. I put my DDs gloves on 1st then her jacket (Lands end Squall jacket). She shoves her hand althe way through and pokes her thumb through the thumb hole. There is no way for her to get the glove off that way.

We got a pair like this for DD. They come all the way past her elbows. Maybe you could put her shirt sleeves over them to make it even harder to pull them off.

OneStepAhead has snow mittens with a cuff all the way to the elbow. I was just looking at them yesterday and considering buying them.

I would get the snow sleeves and put them on, then her coat. Try ****'s or Sports Authority.
The coat with the thumb hole doesn't prevent them from taking their mittens/gloves off. We all have those on our coats, and it's very easy to get the mittens off.

We have a pair from carters that has a strap at the top by the wrist. I tighten the strap as much as possible and with both gloves on my ds cant pull them off.

Re: Help - Need gloves/mittens for snow that will stay on DD
Thanks everybody. I ordered a pair of those long length mittens. Looking into the jacket with the thumb hole; and will try putting the mittens on under her shirt...great suggestions. Hope for better luck with next outing!
