anyone have an upholstered headboard?
We got ours at bobs,it's a headboard, footboard and rails. We bought our dressers elsewhere.

How is long term care of an upholstered bed? I enjoy the look of them, but I wonder how long they would last in good condition, and how much upkeep they would require..

We made ours nearly ten years ago. It is just as comfortable then as it is now. There is some discoloration where my husband's head had rested from the natural oils in his scalp on the white fabric portion of the headboard. I want to get new bedding as our bedding is ten years old too and was going to recover it.

Believe it or not, my mom ordered hers (which is beautiful) off of Sears' website.
This was about two years ago.
She also looked and saw some on JCP Home Store and Ballard.

I bought one at Pottery Barn Outlet in Riverhead and had another made by a local upholstery shop.
And I agree, making one would not be difficult. Plywood, foam padding, fabric stapled on and some screws and nuts to attach it to the bed frame. There are probably how-to videos online. Plus, some of the older threads on here have information.
