Another Sachem Question

I dont want my question to get lost in the other post.

But Sachem is one of the top districts we are looking to move into. Most of the houses/neighborhoods we like are Sachem East.

Is there really a difference?

And we are leaving our current neighborhood because there is a TON of section 8 around us and we want an 'upgrade'. With all this new housing going up should we be looking elswhere? I dont want to be in the same boat a couple years from now!

I really want a large district that has anything and everything to offer my children and I was deciding between Sachem, Connetquot and until recently Three Village (too far north for us)

we just ruled it out. every time we went to look at a house we complained about the drive back to the south shore (where our families and work are)

What about Sayville/West Sayville? That is where I wish I bought 7 years ago. The market is still great for buying.

Another Sachem Question

If you look at South Setauket Park, which is three village, it is south of 347. Great neighborhood and schools. It is only 30 minutes to West Islip. Also, take a look at West Isliip for south shore. My sister lives there and loves it and the schools.

Re: Another Sachem Question

Sachem is a great district. It has tons to offer from a fantastic special education program (many districts from around the county send their kids to Sachem for special education) to Boces, to many honor programs. Sachem east and Nortj are both excellent hs.

Another Sachem Question

My son is a graduate of Connetquot. I lived south of sunrise, north of montauk.
If you have specific questions about the schools, let me know.

I agree. My uncle and his family live there and it's a great neighborhood. I don't know if parts of South Setauket Park are Three Village SD, but he was zoned for Middle Country SD.

Another Sachem Question

I grew up in Sachem and attended the high schools during the split. In terms of the two schools they offer the same things. My parents live in Farmingville closer to the Holtville border and they have had no problems. They have been in the house 18 years.
