Communion Dresses--with a catch
I need to get my niece her communion dress, but she is a big girl. Only 8 but wears a 14 or 16 girls size. Has anyone seen this size in like JC Penneys or Sears? I remember they used to have girls "plus sizes". Their websites have limited dresses, plus I want her to get to look and try them on. I don't want to take her places where she gets upset b/c they have nothing for her. Otherwise I might just try a bridal shop and see if flower girl dresses come in those sizes.

Call some local shops who sell Communion dresses in advance to see if they have her size in stock.

Nordstroms sells them and they go up to 14 in some. Look under special occasion and choose big girl sizes.
You can see if they have it in the store too. Nordstrom does free shipping but they had a bunch you can call.

Had that issue with my niece. My sister got her dress at Sears. It was 2 years ago though.

Yeah I am not a fan of them anymore. Trying to avoid them if I can. They do have half sizes though so if need be will go there. Just so over priced and those ladies are rude!

There's a store called Little Dickens in Centereach that specializes in communion and baptism dresses. Maybe try them?

I was in Burlington Coat factory today and there were quite a few dresses in big sizes.

I was in JcPenny (Roosevelt Field) and they had a large selection of dresses. they are in the childrens section sized 7-14 and there is a Big girls section right next to them but not sure if they had dresses.
But that area goes up t size 14 so I would assume size 14 would be there

I went to Sears last year to look for DD, and there were several different pretty ones in larger sizes.
