Has anyone ever had issues with their foundation shifting?
We have been noticing some cracks in the drywall above the corners of windows and doors in our house, and some places where the nails that hold the drywall to the studs are pushing out of the drywall. Has anyone had anything like that happen in their home, and if so, who did you call to address it?

How old is the house? And how bad are the cracks?

It was built in the 1930's and the cracks aren't too bad, individually, but we've been noticing a lot more of them popping up recently so it's starting to worry us.

Most of that is probably normal - called "settling". That's why some people use screws for drywall so they can't pop out. I would think an engineer could check the house if you're concerned.

Can you see your foundation, is your basement finished?

I hope its normal! But lately we've been getting worried since we see so many spots where the nails are starting to poke through the drywall. I think they are in every room of the house.

Sounds very normal especially for the age of the house. It's from the settling. My 1950s house had naiil pops all over too. They used nails, rather than drywall screws back then so you have to just nail it back in and fill it but also put a drywall screw next to the nail so they don't pop back out

We see the nails in the room that has not been redone recently. It is because they used to use nails and not drywall screws as what prior person said.

Wow, I am having this issue in my house as well. There are no major issues but I have noticed a few cracks here and there that weren't when we moved in in June. I hope this is just normal stuff. I can see where settling may have happened in the past (look like nails may have popped through a bit)
