kitchen cabinet accessories??
we're remodeling our kitchen. In regards to kitchen cabinet accessories - spice rack, drawers, lazy susan, etc...what are some of things you love, hate, cant live without?

Re: kitchen cabinet accessories??
I'm a fan of the lazy susan.
I'm a fan of a pots/pans cabinet. See below (my parents have):
The fact that they are width-wise the right size to accommodate pots and pants as well as depth -- and then, the cabinet actually rolls out on little wheels to make it easy to get to the back.
The cabinet maker (he's a vendor on here, Dynamic Kitchens)... he went ahead and did the same wheel-out style for their pantry too. And I'm the type, that's another must - a nice pantry that's accessible.
I like when the spice rack is built into a thin drawer that almost looks like a column next to the stove but when you pull it out it reveals a thin spot specifically for spices.
The soft-close drawers were a really nice feature that I really enjoyed.
The kitchen itself - I like under-cabinet lighting. A few lights here and there change the look of the kitchen at night or during a party when entertaining. They are easy to have put in but go a long way style-wise. Sometimes I would just leave those on at night when I was in the adjoining den watching TV. It's pretty and calming :) They are on a separate switch so you can have JUST them on, if you wanted. Or add them with the others and flip them all on at once. But you have the choice that way.
For me - again, not really cabinet specific but the kitchen. A FARM SINK. I am in love with a BIG, DEEP farm sink... decorative front. Beautiful. My parents have one and I MADE my mom do it. They are pricey compared to most sinks and she was like am I going to spend this on a SINK?? And I said YOU HAVE TO It is just beautiful. My fave part of the whole kitchen.
My parents kitchen - I picked out the whole thing lol I was living vicariously through them!
ETA - My mom did a few glass cabs to display some pretty plates and glasses. It is a nice touch and breaks up the monotony of the cabs.

I have a pot shelf in a cabinet ( not as wide as the one pictured) and it is the only thing I like about my kitchen! Highly recommend!
My parents have a few of those roll out shelves--for pots & for foil & stuff too.

Re: kitchen cabinet accessories??
I love the lazy susan in my lower corner cabinet. For the upper cabinet, I opted for an L-shaped corner, which I still like because stuff doesn't get lost in the way back.
I opted for almost all drawers for the lower cabinet, especially in the island. If I didn't do the drawers, I would definitely gotten the pull out shelves.
Other things I like about my kitchen: dimmable under-cabinet lighting, soft-close drawers, really powerful oven vented to the outside.
One little thing that still drives me nuts is that we put in the soap dispenser on the wrong side of the sink,. It made sense to me that it would go to the right of the faucet, but as we're both right-handed, it would have been better to put it on the left side (since the sponge is in our right hand). Oh well.
