Vent - WTH is wrong with people?

I am due at the end of April and, I swear, if one more person tells me that "I've dropped" or asks if I'm sure that I'm not having twins, they might get a throat punch. I don't even think I'm that huge! It's all belly, I'm coming to work every GD day, trying to mind my own business and people say things like this! Doesn't anyone think it adds to my anxiety a little bit that maybe you telling me I've dropped two months early isn't something I want to hear??

Here's another good one - same offender as above continues to tell me that he rode the elevator with another of our co-workers and he didn't even notice she was pregnant and she's due this week!

The nerve.

Ignore or say something snarky back. I finally said something snarky back and it shut them up for good. This person had asked if I was having twins. I said no. She do to continued saying, are you sure...no chance?

Same person a couple weeks later asked when I was due. I told her and she said well you will probably go early and asked if I was sure of my due date. I finally had enough and shot back, yes I'm sure of my due date but thanks for making me feel huge. Never again did she make a comment.

I've just come to terms with the fact that people don't know what to say around pregnant women. One of the receptionists said to me the other day "Why do you look so huge today?" when I walked in. I just shrugged. I really let it roll off my back. I'm carrying a human around and I think I'm doing a pretty good job so far. Your opinion of yourself is the ONLY ONE that matters!!

I agree that people don't know what to say when you're pregnant, but common sense!! Just treat me like a regular person! No need to make chit chat or to ask me for the 1040348954 time when I'm due. If you cared, you'd remember! My dr isn't concerned and I'm following her lead! Just once I'd really like to tell someone off. It's hard at work, but I have to find some kind of a comeback that works for me. Glad I'm not the only one who has endured such insensitivity.

Try not to let others stupid comments get to you as hard as I know it is. As someone else said, I just think people feel that they HAVE to say something and it usually is something stupid.

I have heard it all. I was very active and pretty small pre-pregnancy so once I stopped running and gave even the tiniest in my diet, I showed. I have heard all sorts of stupid comments from friends, families, co-workers. It's never ending. As early as October, someone asked me if I was sure I wasn't having twins and I am not due until April 9th! My sister this past weekend just told me she is positive I am having a girl because my nose has spread. Everyone has a friggin comment as if I am not self conscious enough!

I've been getting the "are you sure there aren't two in there haha!" Since I was like 25 weeks! I wanted to lose my mind! I'm now due in a little over two weeks and probably for the last 8 weeks the same 4 people keep telling me "no way you're making it to your due date!" I don't know how many times ice told them just bc I look big doesn't mean the baby is gonna come flying out early!!! Ughhhh sooooo annoying!!!

When people asked if its twins I would shrug and say I have no idea I never went to a doctor. I am going the wholisitic route. Smile...walk away. You call also say yeah you've dropped too and slightly nod toward their backside if its a guy or boobs if its a girl with a too bad look on your face.

Several times I got "omg you are going to get HUGE" when people found out that I was having twins.
Oh! And how could I forget the time I posted a picture of myself at around 18 weeks on Instagram and my friend called out how gigantic my boobs were. Yeah, thanks for that!

I'm only 13 weeks pregnant and every time my MIL sees me (1-2x per week) she says "You're still not showing...?" Maybe I'm oversensitive but it comes off like I have to explain myself. I just say "It's still really early." But she has said it so many times already IDK what to say anymore. With my son, she said it the first 6 months. And I'm overweight so I'm self conscious about my body. You know, the whole "do I look pregnant or fat" thing. I just don't need the weekly abdomen evaluation by my MIL and she is starting way too early.

Usually, tiny girls will look comparatively huge during pregnancy. They become all belly. Take it as a compliment: you are so huge because normally you are tiny!

Had a coworker look at me in shock in my 8th month that I was pregnant. He thought I was just overeating! To be fair, it's hard to tell with our work clothes. We still laugh about that! I told him I'd have to be hospitalized if something like that happened without me being pregnant.

Take it with a sense of humor!

And yes, I ask about due date all the time: it's small talk that involves the other person. Then I can comment on winter or summer baby (I had both) and ask if the sibling's clothes will fit.
