when you went into labor....

Might be a dumb question but did you feel any signs the hours or a day before that labor was coming or was it completely random? I guess I'm just wondering if I'm going to wake up one night with or randomly be hit with contractions at some unknown point and that will be that....

For me it was totally random
The night before I danced, walked, ate pineapple, etc to try to get things moving :)

Day before dd I had doc appt and they said I had made no progress and we would start discussing induction/c section a week after my due date. I came home crying emailing my boss that I would never have the baby.

Woke up at 6 am and had to go to bathroom. Got out of bed and had a sharp pain. Things started from there. She was born 3 am that night/following day.

I woke up at midnight with contractions - had them all night and day but no pain until around 5pm. Had DD around 8pm.

Cramping like AF was about to show the day before. I also lost my mucous plug.

Random. I woke up at 1130pm cause me water broke and then had contractions. Not a single clue and I was 3 weeks early so I def was not expecting it.

This is way TMI, but I went to the bathroom a lot the day before I went into labor. I had mentioned it to my mom and she said that is a sign that labor is coming.

Not really. The day before I went into full blown labor I was having some random contractions here and there.
I didn't even know at the time that they were contractions, but I guess they were. But they were very sporadic and far apart.

Nope, no signs. I woke up and was spotting so my OB told me to come in. On my way there, I thought I was starting to have minor contractions. Turned out I was already 4cm dilated.

Lost my mucus plug Monday morning, water broke Monday night. No contractions or anything in between.

Totally random for me. Other than that I was slightly dilated the week before.

With both kids I happened to have a doctors appointment on the day they were born, with #1 I was 6cm at the doctors in active labor and didn't feel it, with #2 I was 7-8cm at the doctors, felt some cramping early in the day, but since I had an appointment anyway I just waited.

For both of mine, I lost my plug the night before and went into labor following day. Let's see if that holds true for this one.

The day before I felt like utter poop! My stomach hurt (not contractions, just hurt), I was warn out (more then usual), and just over it. My water broke that night.

A few days before I had randomly vomited. Then, the day before I felt cramping and discomfort. The day of, however, I was bopping around like normal when BAM! water broke in the car as I was running errands.

Thanks everyone!! I'm hoping it's soon. I'm 38 weeks today and overrrrrrrr it.

No signs really - I was due to get induced that night at midnight. Around 9pm, I went to start getting ready, taking a shower, etc. and BAM contractions started. Prior to that I was about 3cm dilated for maybe a good week or two. I did start having random nights of contractions that never panned into anything.

For me, random. Water broke, I was driving, thankfully with DH. I felt and heard it. Once I stepped out of car was when gush happened.

Try to relax as much as you can and kind of prepare yourself for anything.

Crashing....

With DD1 I had a ton of nervous energy two days before I went into labor. I started having contractions which I thought were cramps.

With DD2 I had no warning at all before my water broke, in the middle of the night, while I was sleeping.

Nothing.

I actually went into work in the morning and apparently I was in labor. I kept having what I thought was Braxton Hicks, but they were actually real contractions...

First I was induced and had no signs of anything happening.

Second baby I had mild menstrual like cramping on and off for about a week. I had false labor the day before I went into actual labor. Well I started getting mild contractions (not even painful, just uncomfortable) and had my bloody show that night/early morning around 3 am. Contractions intensified and became more frequent at 8 am; I was admitted to hospital around 9. I had ds at 1:18 pm.

I had cramping/contractions on and off for about 2 weeks prior, but they were pretty noticeably different the evening before I went into labor (labor started about 1:30am). At my appointment that afternoon I was about 2.5cm dilated, 60% effaced, but baby was still up very high.

Nope, I was rolling out a pie crust when I started having cramps like AF. After I finished baking the pie, I was like, "ok I'm in labor" lol

No signs of going into labor other than losing my mucus plug the day before. When I did start experiencing the contractions they felt like really bad menstrual cramps that progressed to full blown contractions.

I knew from the day before. I was nauseous, in a lot of pain, and kept thinking, "this better be it because I can't take another 2 weeks of this!" Lots of really and cramping too.
