What the heck is going on?
So, yesterday morning I woke with lots of cramping. Went to work and called the dr to see if I can move my appt up since it was at 1:30, and they were getting stronger. Turns out my dr was at the hospital, so they just sent me there instead of waiting.
Go to the hospital, 2.5cm dilated, contractions about 8 minutes apart. They tell me to go get lunch, walk around, and come back when they're closer together or when i just can't take the pain anymore.
I go home, have contractions (strong and real) every 7-10 minutes apart until about 11pm. I go to get some rest incase it happens overnight, and all of a sudden the contractions just stop!
Now here I am, with a contraction here and there, nothing consistent, nothing too painful...just waiting.
So, what the heck was yesterday about?? My due date is in 6 days. DS came a few days early, so I was hoping this one would be the same. I hate to be home just waiting, using up my FMLA with no baby.
Anyone have this happen before?

I haven't personally experienced that, but I'm a little surprised they sent you home if they were regular and dilating. Is it possible to go to work or are you officially on FMLA.?

I'm a litter surprised they sent you home too but honestly, labor at home as long as possible if you can. You don't want to be in the hospital for too long. I had false labor a week before my due date. Regular contractions about 10 minutes apart and 2cm. They sent me home and then they stopped overnight. It's extremely frustrating and well I HATED hearing it...it's coming and it's close. You will have you're little LO in your arms soon!

Ugh, this is so annoying. This happened with my second and drove me nuts! Prodromal labor is good though. It is helping to bring baby down and dilate you so hopefully when the main event occurs, it is nice and quick! Good luck!!

I think they sent me home bc I haven't had any complications throughout, and they said my cervix was still thick, so it could still be a while. Technically, I could go to work, but I'm in banking/customer service and having a contraction with a customer at my desk won't be fun...lol

Re: What the heck is going on?
I'm just gonna be active today and hope something happens. They're coming back about every 10-12 minutes now, so hopefully it's a sign that things will start moving along.
It's an excuse to go shopping.
