my kindergarten all of sudden crying and doesn't want to go to school

Riley loves school since day one all of a sudden since last week she has been crying before school and going thru so many reason why. We keep asking her what is going on? so we can help you etc. but the list is from not getting words correct on a spelling test not being a helper not making friends which I know she is. I just wrote to the teacher again today that she was very upset and watching her on the bus crying her eyes out just ripped my husband apart! Not sure what is going on and any advice would be great.

Did it start after the break? Maybe she's just having a hard time getting back into the swing of things?

This has only ever happened to my kids when some other child was bothering them. Was there a seat change recently in class? Maybe she is not getting along with another student? Sometimes they are afraid to tell.

I agree that something happened at school - it could be something as simple as a child not wanting to play with her. I remember when I was in like 3rd grade, I was crying telling my mom I did not want to go to school, playing sick. my mom did some investigating and found out that some jerk in my class was bullying me

Did the teacher respond? My sister went through something similar in kindergarten (I remember-I am 9 years older), crying she didn't want to go to school, etc. she even had some bedwetting incidents during this time. My mom finally found out from one of her friends when she was over for a play date. She said Mrs. M yelled at my sister for not listening. My mom was shocked. After a p-t conference that week, my mom had some choice words for Mrs. M. All of a sudden, my sister started sleeping better, no more bedwetting, and stopped crying when she had to go to school.

Not saying this is the case with your daughter, you just never know what's going on in their minds.

did you talk to the teacher?? and side note: a spelling test in K?? That alone would stress my dd out

My daughter went through something like this in 1st grade. No rhyme or reason. She was in day care/nursery/pre k starting at 10 weeks so no real attachment issues. This went on for a good 3 weeks that felt like an eternity. I had every professional at school helping me get her in the bldg and the kids were extra nice to her in class. It phased out in 3 weeks and hasn't been an issue since. ( this was 2 yrs ago). During the time, it was horrible but it passed. Get as much help from the school as you can. Hopefully it will pass soon.

Update I spoke with the teacher that week almost everyday saying everything in class was fine. I'm happy to report we are back on track no crying etc!! Hopefully it was a quick phase and it won't come back.
