Please help a girl with eye makeup
I'm HORRIBLE at all things makeup. I just never learned. I've finally figured out foundation, but I'm just awful with eye makeup. Please help. I have blue eyes but you really can't tell b/c they're dark and I'm inept w/makeup. I'm looking for a natural, daily look. CAn you recommend the best online tutorial - either video OR a really clear diagram that will help me choose colors and tell me where to put them on my eye? Most days I don't wear any eye makeup b/c when I try to apply it it either looks like its not there, or I look like a painted wh*ore. Thanks!

I am the same way!
I never ever wear eye shadow because like you said, it never seems to show up on me. Or all the colors just mush together into a mess.
It doesn't help that I have hooded eyelids- like my brow bones or low or something so you can barely see eye shadow on me either.
Plus I am so not good with hair and make up. I have like ZERO artistic ability and I really think you need a little of that to do make up well.
Ugh.
I am interested in hearing suggestions too!

YouTube some Urban Decay Naked Palette tutorials...you don't need the palette to copy the techniques. You could make do with some shadows that are less money (though honestly the Naked 3 palette is an object of my affection, I love it ever so)...since the palettes have a variety of shades, you can do day or evening looks with them. The tutorials will show you how, step by step.

This is what I do, though I'm a Naked2 girl. And I swear halfway through it looks awful, like I got punched in the face, and I'm ready to just take it off. But then I finish and it somehow looks good! Those tutorials are magic.

I'm terrible w/ makeup, and I have zero patience as well.
I also, should probably walk around in a bubble b/c I"m allergic to everything, and need to give my eyes like, an hour to calm down if I am putting any real makeup on them -
So, my daily 'eye' routine is just an eyelash curler, black mascara and a liner in my upper lash line - it really does make a HUGE difference, and my eyes are hazel and small - if you have blue eyes, it will really make them pop.

For a very beginner look I think you should watch Emily Noel on Youtube. She has a tutorial for "the sandwich method". It's basic and super easy, perfect for your needs. You could start with this and gradually move up.

YouTube eye makeup tutorias for hooded eyes! Mine are getting hooded as I age so I needed to change my make up application. I went to sephora (at Roosevelt field) and got a full make up lesson w products, etc. From there I learned some new stuff and then went on to practice with tutorials online. So far so good.
