Fell Down the Stairs
This weekend stunk. Friday evening I was holding 20 mo DD and fell down our stairs! They are wooden and I had socks on and just slid down 6 or 7 stairs. I fell with so much force, I actually crashed through the baby gate at the bottom of the stairs and ripped it off the wall! I was terrified and mindful of not hurting DD. I cradled her and thankfully, fell on my knees and shins, which took most of the impact of the fall and are all bruised and sore. Poor DD was terrified and wailing and I was just stunned. DH came running out of the bathroom and was like omg, what happened?!
I called my dr's service since they closed early for Good Friday and the on-call dr told me to go to Labor and Delivery to be on the safe side even though I had no bleeding and cramping. It was packed, I wasn't called for an hour. I thought it would be a quick sono, in and out. Nope. Blood, IV and fluids, a cervix check, ultrasound. DD got some bruising and scrapes, but the poor thing has been running a 102/103 fever since last night I am literally drained. So lucky and thankful that baby and DD are both ok.

So sorry to hear that. Thankfully you, dd and the baby are ok. Accidents happen. Try to take it easy.

It is so easy for something like that to happen. I'm so glad you're all okay!!! Take care of yourself, try to get your rest, everything will be fine! I'm sorry you had to go through all that!

Fell Down the Stairs
I'm sorry! I did the SAME exact thing when I was about 7 weeks pregnant. I thought I shook baby loose. I had HORRIBLE bruises on my thigh, tush, and back... and arm. I could barely sit for 3 days.
I'm so glad everything is OK, though!

Re: Fell Down the Stairs
Thanks so much everyone. Things went from bad to worse today. I dropped DD off at my parents, backed out of their driveway, and hit a parked car on the street! I just didn't see it. Thankfully, I was going slow and just damage to the cars. I ended up back at the dr for monitoring and a sono though. Dr told me to take it easy so I'm taking the day off tomorrow. I've had a really awful week and a half and I'm just drained. Thanks for listening.

Re: Fell Down the Stairs
You need a mental health day. If it makes you feel better since being pregnant I hit a cement barricade and lightly tapped a car in front of me. It's like my head is in the clouds and I'm not focused. In all the years of having my license, I have never ever hit anything!
