Re: Dr Zapantis?
I'm with Dr. Zapantis and very happy less the successful IUI that unfortunately miscarried at 8 weeks. I'm not familiar with your needs but I find him super intelligent and the staff is wonderful.

It seems like the sart data is very important. From what i am told RMA has the best in the area. is this true? i have an appointment at the long island office this week.

Re: Dr Zapantis?
Dr Z gave me my twins. We did 3 IUIs and 2 IVF cycles. I carried to 38 weeks. I can not say enough great things about him

Re: Dr Zapantis?
Sart stats are essentially a clinics success rates - but take them with a grain of salt. Some clinics inflate theirs by turning down undesirable candidates, or canceling cycles that are looking less likely to be successful. For example NYU, which is a legit great clinc, nonetheless will generally not do a cycle if your fsh is over 12 that cycle (a pretty low threshold). This definitely contributes to their high success rates I think. I think you just want to make sure your clinic of choice is "running with the pack" with other clinics for your age range/issue. Don't get hung up on whose numbers are the "best" because that could be misleading.

Re: Dr Zapantis?
SART data is a way to compare clinic success rates.
http://www.sart.org/find_frm.html
Of course, if a clinic has fewer patients, it is easier to have "skewed data" either way (looking better or worse than average).
You can see success rates of "transfers resulting in live births" and "cycles resulting in live births" by each center.
Data changes, of course, if they make changes in the protocol of the center or the lab (an example is that RMA changed the way they freeze the embryos somewhat recently which increases their survival rate), can change the stats of success.
Of course, patient selection can account for higher/lower success rates (if all very hopeless patients are going to one particular practice, their results will be "artificially" lower).

Dr Zapantis?
Used RMA NY for my first cycle about 7 years ago. They were great but was not successful there for multiple reasons.
I think I've been to every clinic in NYC and can basically say that New Jersey has much better labs and SART data. I agree take sart data with a grain of salt. Which is why I only pay attention to the donor egg success rates. This truly tells the quality of the lab. I really just wanted to know if Dr. Z is on SART. Anyone know????

No.. I've been researching clinics recently and he's not on there yet (SART data is from 2013). But check his website ny reproductive wellness for info. I know nothing about him, but maybe you can email him a question (I was going to do that regarding my situation). Good luck!

Re: Dr Zapantis?
In my opinion, Dr. Zapantis is a businessman who is a liar. I went for a consult with him when he was with East Coast Fertility a few years back and he talked about the procedures and methods / formulas he would consider based on my make up. A few weeks later I reach out to work with him and was told her was no longer there. Turns out he went to start his own business ... a place I could not use because of insurance purposes. His is sweetness and "compassionate way" is a crock ladies.
Trust me... whoever gets you pregnant is the "right" doctor in the end. I conceived my daughter with RS of NY with IVF.

All doctors are "business men or women" but aren't we all? That's life. If I had the opportunity to be my own boss I would, you wouldn't? He was still available to you as a doctor just unfortunately he started his own practice and your insurance wasn't accepted (that's what I gathered). That doesn't exactly make him a crock. If he lied to you and gave you false hope then I'd agree with your negative feelings towards him but just because he left to start his own practices after a consult with you doesn't mean he isn't a good doctor.

RS of Ny are the worst when it comes to lying, they lie about everything. Not to make this into a bashing post, they are the worst. AND worst they don't care about pt. They are working hard with buying votes and getting people to like them on FB but it all FAKE advertising and MISLEADING!!!!!!
