Waterproofing Basement
We've gotten a couple of quotes to waterproof our approx. 800 sq ft basement and I'm in sticker shock.
The quotes are $15-16.5k and include drainage such as a French drain or sump pump type of system. We literally live across the street from the water and bought after Sandy. There was water damage and the previous homeowners replaced drywall and carpet but knew they were moving and I have no doubt did not do quality work.
This is work we definitely need to do in the event of future storms and flooding. I really didn't expect it to cost this much and of course, that's just for waterproofing, not anything cosmetic we want to do to fix up the space to our taste.
If you've had this done, can you let me know what you paid and the company you used. Thanks.

Re: Waterproofing Basement
We are currently "waterproofing" our crawl space... adding a foot of sand, 2 pumps and a French drain system. Our quote came in lower than what you are being quoted by a few thousand dollars. We are using ACM Basement Waterproofing (I think they are vendors on here) 631-581-0600. The owner, Mark has been beyond helpful and informative with all of the questions we have had.
