It's hysterical and juvenile at the same time that my father, 65 years old going on FIFTEEN, gets bitter and jealous over Tony effing Danza... To this day. My mom and him were what? Thirteen?? They grew up together as neighbors in Brooklyn, were very good friends, and were like "kid boyfriend/girlfriend" where all you do is kiss, KWIM?? And here my dad, who has been married to my mother for over 44 years GETS JEALOUS if he comes on TV or gets brought up by someone or if we are watching like the Today Show and he's being interviewed. I mean, GROW UP It is hysterical.
A few years back there was a fundraiser my mom was going to go to with her friend -- last minute they couldn't attend so they just sent a donation anyway but Tony Danza was slated to be there and I'm like wow will he remember you? She's like we were friends a few houses away from each other for over ten years, of course he will. I was like wow that's cool you get to see him again and catch up and when my dad got wind of it he was alllllll huffy. He's like he thinks he's so cool, Who's the Boss, blah blah LMAO!!!!! When she didn't go I'm like please tell me it's not because dad is a CHILD?? She's like NO! something with her friend came up and she didn't want to attend alone but it was just hysterical. One year Tony was hosting a 4th of July event in DC and it came on and my dad changed to another 4th of July special instead! Take your toys and go home why don't you!
ETA -- my mom refers to him as Anthony because back then that is what everyone called him, so that is what she knows him as. His last name was shortened when he became famous, it was initially something like Iadanza or something of that nature.

The closes I can get is MILs friend is the aunt of David Schwimmer. I used to think that meant I'd eventually meet him and maybe the whole cast of Friends. Never happened. Not even close. haha

Yup - i'm a HUGE type o fan, and Carnivore fan from the old days 
met Peter Steele when an old boyfriend of mine was in a hardcore band and they opened for Type O in the early 90's - i told him how much i loved Slow Deep & Hard and carnivore's albums and he looked at me like i had 3 heads and said most women didn't like their music! (this was before bloody kisses of course) I absolutely adore him and go thru withdrawals every few months thinking about him and that there will never be another type o album

Don't know if any of these count:
Daniella Alonso who was on the night shift and is in Mall cop 2 is my 3rd cousin. I don't know her but my uncle keeps in contact with that side of the family.
I know a child actor who played Jaguar on Diego and did a few team Umi Zumi episodes, he also had a huge Target billboard in Time Square.
I met the Producer of the Wire, David Simon and Director Paul Haggis while my son was filming a HBO show. My son knows them more than I do.
Tony Danza said "cute kid" to my son while we were boarding a plane. So that makes us BFFs right?

She's awesome- anytime she is scheduled to be on the island, my family hosts a big bbq before/after her concert. So we see her about 1-2x a year, but my aunts/uncles and dad keep in touch with her weekly. Whenever we all get together, it's always a great time.

I forgot to add the Karate Kid lol...My mom danced with him when they were younger and stayed in touch. In the early 90's when my cousin was dying from Leukemia all she wanted was to meet him and he came over and hung out with the whole family.
He was also just at my friends wedding at the Watermill cause apparently her DH's family is close with him also.

I don't have any personal connections, but a guy I work with is good friends with Channing Tatum. When he comes to NY to visit or for work they get together (usually once a year). And yes...I told him next time Channing is in town he BETTER invite me out with them

Lol mine too! Ours was her version of "Can't Help Falling in Love".
My uncle is well -known in the opera world (conductor at the Met) which means nothing to most people in terms of celebrity. But he was friends with Luciano Pavarotti and Princess Stephanie of Monaco. He lives in the same building as Al Pacino and Beverly D'Angelo and across the street from Tina Fey lol.
My close friend is a model and actress but people probably don't know who she is... She starred in a horror movie that came out in March in select theaters, and she played J-Wow in the parody videos they played on MTV when the Jersey Shore was popular. She's in a bunch of youtube videos that have gone viral, too, so maybe one day she'll be considered a celebrity!
