Do most buses have aides?
I'm sure it depends on the district. Just wondering if there is adult (not the driver) to oversee the kids.

only if a child on the bus has an IEP requiring one. more often on special needs buses, but on typical, pretty much never.

We never have aides on the bus unless it is mandated in an IEP.

This exactly. When DS was in the self contained class he was on the smaller bus with a driver and aide. He is going to general ed for kindergarten now and no aide. I was nervous at first, but he's fine. They have assigned seats and the driver keeps an eye on them. They all sit close to the front.

Never had an aide on a general bus. Mini bus, yes. If there were aides on buses, you wouldn't see all of those kids bouncing around in the back of the bus, making gestures at the cars, etc.

We do not have aides and the bus drivers have no control over the kids - they are only k-2

Do most buses have aides?
We only have aides on the the mini buses but we did have camera's installed on all buses and they regularly review them and do reprimand kids for inappropriate behaviors.
