Tried so many with dd. ended up with dr Browns and she did great. As for the extra parts, not a big deal at all. Eventually everything went in the dishwasher anyway.

And this is why you shouldn't register for a ton of bottles. Try one of one brand and see how baby takes to it. Every baby is diff, regardless of recommendations from other moms.

What I like about the ventaires is the shape. I always found it awkward holding bottles that didn't have that curve to it like the ventaires do, especially when down to the last couple of ounces. I also liked how there are a variety of nipple shapes to use

Re: Bottles

We started with Dr browns with DDs and switched to Ventaire at about 3/4 mo. I couldn't deal with the browns!

This time we are using Playtex drop ins.

I like the Playtex dropins and Medela. Medela hook right into the pump so it's most convenient. Tommy Tipppe flowed too fast for my LO

Mr. Browns was recommended to me by a friend that likes to do a lot of research so I followed her advise and used them. I liked them so there was no need for me to use anything else

Yeah- It has good reviews. It is supposed to be the closest to breast feeding. It also has breast bump adapters for medela and the other name brand pumps so that you can pump right into the bottles

Re: Bottles

We used Avent and had leaking issues then went to Dr. Browns. It is a pain but the gas issue was a huge factor in our choice, they worked

I'm current using Avent with DD who is almost 3 weeks. She started on the Avent Natural bottles/nipples but was sucking down too much milk (even on the smallest nipple) because her latch is so strong. We switched to Avent Classic and things are much better. Avent Classic has an anti-colic system which I think really works well. I also like that there are only a few pieces to the Avent bottles -- bottle itself, nipple, base ring. My only complaint is that I hate how the smaller bottles only hold 4oz. I'm going to have to move up to the bigger bottle in a little which I feel will be massive as it holds 9oz. I've heard good things about MAM bottles, too. Their smaller ones hold 5 oz.

I was intrigued by the Ventaires but read the reviews online and so many people said that since the bottle has been re-designed that it leaks a ton. Have you experienced this at all?

Only when the blue vent disc needs to be replaced- every few months or so.

Also water can get stuck between the clear base and the white vent if you stick the bottles in warm water to warm up the milk. But it's not leaking, just dripping the stuck water from in between the parts.

I went through many bottles with DD1 and ended up with Dr. Brown's, which I was trying to avoid bc of all the parts, but she ended up doing well with those. I stuck with Dr. Brown's this time as well. Parts are not a big deal.
