Preschool Class party question

My son is finishing his 2nd year at his preschool. We are choosing not to do the district preK so he will have one more year there, but I know many are leaving to do the district program. So... I wanted to host a end of the year party at my home. I teach and don't know some of the parents, so I thought it would be fun for the kids and a great way for more parents to meet. The max size would be about 20 kids, but I'm banking on people not coming lol (they don't all know us, it's a Sunday in June, etc...) We have a big yard with playset, sports stuff, and sprinklers, and I really wanted to keep the kids outside. Inside would be harder as our house is more broken into smaller rooms and the kids would be everywhere. I'm only giving 2 weeks notice, but on the invite I was going to say come join us for cupcakes and outdoor play, and I was going to have a rain date. Is that rude? I really want to make it low key, but fun, but I don't want to offend anyone either by basically having it an outdoor only party. Of course people can come in for bathroom and as needed, I just don't really want 20 kids all over the place inside lol.

Preschool Class party question

I hope it's not rude because I am doing the same thing for my DD's second grade class. : ). If it's nice out, keep the kids outside!! I did put a time frame - 12 - 3 so the parents know not to leave their kids here all day lol but you have pre-k so the parents will most likely stay.

Re: Preschool Class party question

Thank you! Yes parents will stay, but I am also going to put a time limit on the invite 2-4. If it was our mutual friends, which it has been up to this they can stay forever, but I don't know half these people so they need a time limit lol.

Re: Preschool Class party question

We just hosted a party like this. There were a couple of parents inside with their tiny babies. All other parents and kids were outside the whole time. I got all out door toys bubble wands, bug finder kits, water guns. Kids and parents had a blast.
