Upper Lip Attached to Gum Causing Pain
For the past 4 days my DD has been miserable and in terrible pain which I chalked up to teething- but it is def in between her front 2 teeth where her upper lip is attached to her gum. Anyone else go through this? Will the pain subside or do I need to take her to a dentist to have this removed? I questioned this area about 3 months ago to my family who pretty much dismissed me and said its fine and normal and that she can get it removed when she is older. I had this removed when I was 11 and ended up with a nasty gap and needed braces. Is a 22 month old too young to get this done? Inheld off on it bc it wasn't causing pain but omg I don't know how to keep her comfortable at this point :(
Also question part 2. There is a dentist Dental Smiles 4 Kids in Ronkonkoma that will cover everything under this procedure (so they say and I have no idea how much this costs). Has anyone ever gone there before?

Sounds like lip tie. I believe it's recommended to to have it lasered earlier than later. Besides that I don't know much about them.

22 months is not too young. Also, with a lip tie 99% of times there is also a tongue tie. We used Dr. Siegal in Melville. He does laser revisions, and does NOT put patients under, regardless of age.

Just wondering how do you do the procedure with a moving child if they are not under?
