Shoes - on a day like today
What kind of shoes would you wear to work on a day like today (miserable and rainy) with dress pants? I feel like I don't really like any of the options in my closet

Exactly.
This morning I sighed when I got to my feet.
Looked at my sandals and shuddered. 
And then looked at my boots and thought --- hmmm??
And then I'm like, it's JUNE, I can't wear boots!!
And I threw on a pair of ballet flats, not happily, but I did it.
There's no good answer. There's also spring rain boots -- to and from the car -- and then whatever you want when you are inside. I mean, there is always that option.

I broke out the hunter boots to trapse through the city comute.
NOT happy about it.

I was going to wear rain boots and then change at work but I have to go to 3 different locations today (and be dressed professionally at each). Ugh!

I also threw on the ballet flats. I usually wear my hunter boots and then change but i didnt feel like it today. Those boots are so F'n heavy!

Thanks - some great ideas. I actually just got a pair of closed toe, denim espadrilles 2 days ago, but was afraid of ruining them in the rain, so I didn't wear them today. Next time I'll give them a try!

On a side note- does anyone else find getting their rain boots off to be a huge PIA?
Sometimes I skip wearing them because I dread the thought of having to get them off. It's exhausting!
I usually have to have DH stand there and yank them off of me while I hold on to a chair for dear life!!!

I wear black closed-toe wedge heels to/from work. I change to my black pumps when I get in the office.
All of my pants are too long on me if I put on ballet flats. I need a stylish "commuter" shoe to wear every day, and the wedge heels are comfortable. I'm more of a pumps kind of gal, but the wedge's serve their purpose.
I wear these to work on most days, despite the weather. They are more practical when getting the kids out of the house and carrying all their bags each day.

Then I switch to regular closed shoes in the office.

YES!!!! I had a pair of Dav's that I could not get off by myself. DH got me a new pair that has a slight wedge and a zipper!!! Now I have no problems getting them on and off.

Yes and I also skip wearing them for this reason. Especially to work- I don't want to make a big scene at my desk

I wear soemthing simialr, but a lower wedge. I usually keep them on at work, but if i was more dressed up, I'd switch to heels ( random side not, I seemd to have lost 1 black pump on a business trip. nor at all sure how that happened.  )
Part of the reason I never wear pants is that I don't have to wear about heel height & hem length.
I saw a lot of people wearing boots yesterday, but I can't bring myself to do it, which is so dumb b/c if this was septemeber & this weather, I would.
