Best Infant Carrier-baby wearing not car seat
I plan on going shopping tomorrow for additional stuff that I want to have before arrives. I'm looking for a infant carrier I can use from birth onward. I've had tiny DC 5lbs and change.
Any suggestions?

Baby wearing not infant car seat.
I had a feeling! I think most carriers have an 8lb minimum weight requirement.

I had dd2 in the Moby and ergo at 5 or 6 pounds no problem. Ergo you need either the infant insert or a rolled blanket under their butt. Moby is great for newborns but if you want one carrier that will last you a year or two I would go with the ergo.

Re: Best Infant Carrier-baby wearing not car seat
I actually am in process of finding best one for me. I had bought one and it wasn't for me. I recommend going to a babywearing meetup. Very helpful to see and try them. If you are on Facebook there is a group Long Island babywearing. I now like my maya ring sling but you have to learn how to wear it.

I got a Didymos wrap, they're a bit pricey but they have great reviews. Great thinking about baby wearing btw

I think this is going to be a personal preference to tell you the truth. So many people love the ergo, I did not like it. I really only liked the moby wrap. Once my dd got bigger I liked the infantino mei tai.

I have the boba 3G and love it. After I got it I gave all my other carriers away. It's very similar to the ergo and I used it until my son was over 2 years old.

I used the Ergo Baby when DS was a baby and I found it to be really comfortable.

Definitely personal preference because I hated the moby with a passion! I did like the infantino mei tai.

Love my Ergo. DD was 4 pounds at birth, and took forever to hit 12 pounds, but with the infant insert she fit like a glove. I still use it and she's now 20 pounds

Re: Best Infant Carrier-baby wearing not car seat
your best bet is to try going to a babywearing meet up and trying some out. Long Island Babywearing is the facebook group and they do regular weekly meetups all over the island.

Used a boba wrap when DS was teeny tiny and now have a boba 4G soft structured carrier that DS uses almost every day - he's 8 months old now and both hubby and I love them both!!

Re: Best Infant Carrier-baby wearing not car seat
I have the ergo 360. It's designed for newborns (with infant insert) and can then be used for front inward facing, front outward facing, and back wearing. It's not harmful for their hips and my DD LOVES it.

I LOVED the moby when my DD was a newborn. A lot of my friends weren't into wrapping though and went straight to a soft structured carrier, which can be used for newborns with an insert. I use my ergo all the time now that she's a year old. The key with carriers is that the baby needs to have a good seat, a lot of carriers don't have a lot of support for the butt and baby is sort of dangling, those aren't comfy for them. You also want something comfy for you though if you plan on wearing for long periods, so I second going to a LIBW meet up and trying different carriers. Also, you don't want baby forward facing in front of you.
