Sesame Place ... Is it worth it?

I have a 2 and 5 year old. A vacation is really out of the budget this year. I'm thinking they might enjoy Sesame but we probably couldn't get there until mid afternoon.

Is it worth it to go? Also, can I see the park in 3 or so hours? Is it an overnight or just a day trip?

Thanks!

I think it's a one day park. It will be fun for those ages!

It can definitely be done in one day. My DS went at 3 and I have never seen him happier. I have video of him leaping into Cookie Monster's arms, he was so excited. It was very worth it for us. We will be going back this summer, DS is now 6 and DD is 2.

Sesame Place ... Is it worth it?

Yes we always do this is as a day trip. Last summer my boys were 3 and 15 months when we went and they both loved it. We left LI at 7:30 AM, got to Sesame around 10:15. We stayed until about 5:00 and were walking in our front door by 8. It was a long day but tons of fun and totally worth it!

FYI they have a "twilight" admission which does not let you into the park till after 3 I think- but it's less money. I did that with DD because she was miserable the first time (I only went back because we'd gotten free admission on our first visit through SIL's neighbor who worked there.)

We loved the visit with the Twilight pass- the park was starting to empty out and DD loved it. We stayed till they closed which I think was at 8 o'clock.

Re: Sesame Place ... Is it worth it?

IMO if you're going to do it as a day trip and not make a weekend getaway out of it - it's totally not worth it. The price of admission is high.

What about a family beach day? Not sure where you live, but TOBAY has the spray park - A bunch of parks have them as well .....my boys still love those (4 & 6)

Or, if they like rides, you could do Adventureland in the morning, and then do a picnic on the beach later in the afternoon (most beaches don't charge to park after 5/6 pm)

If you're budget conscious, me personally, Sesame is one of the very last places I'd spend my money.

I highly recommend the twilight admission! IMO, you definitely don't need more than 3-4 hours in the park. It's not that big and at toddler age it's more than enough time. We took DS a few months before he turned 3 and it was great. He really enjoyed it, and it wasn't an overly long and tiring day for him (or us)!
