could you tell me a little bit about Seaford?
Hello, we are looking for a house on Long Island. We started out looking in areas like Wantagh, Massapequa, Massapequa park) and then last week we decided to expend our search a little and looked at some homes in Seaford, even though we don't know too much about it... We saw one that we really liked. The house is zoned for Levittown schools and is located off of Hicksville road, near Southern state pkwy. I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with the area and if you could tell me a little bit about it & the school district.
Thank you

It is a nice family friendly town, close to the train and near parkways. I am not too familiar with Levittown schools but they should be good as well. I know for Seaford SD the district is small (2 elementary schools, 1 MS and 1 HS).

Levittown schools are very good. Seaford is a great area... the area you are looking at is near me, but I'm massapequa. We love living here. It's a nice neighborhood, definitely family friendly.

Re: could you tell me a little bit about Seaford?
Thank you , yes, I hear nothing but good about Seaford, and very good things about Levittown schools, I do understand most people want to be in Wantagh schools if they move to Wantagh and Seaford schools if they move to Seaford, but sometimes things just don't work out exactly how we want them. This house would be so perfect for us, but I just don't know too much about the immediate area it's located it, since it seems to be a bit farther from the "main" part of Seaford...

Not really correct, many people pick Wantagh for Levittown SD, it's Kennedy HS, VERY desirable, just like Wantagh and Seaford.

Wantagh, Levittown SD is MacArthur High.
I grew up in Seaford and have sold many homes in the town you (OP) are looking. Let me know if you have specific questions, or if I can help.
The only downsides of being in north Seaford (Levittown SD) is higher taxes (Levittown school district has higher taxes than Seaford... Of course it depends on house and property, but generally), and you are further from the train (if that factors into the equation for commuting).

We live right over there but in N Mass, which is the other side on 107/hickesville Rd and we are plainedge schools. We love the area!
DS grew up in Seaford and went to Seaford schools. So I can't comment on Levittown schools. I know when we looked we were looking at seaford, plainedge and wantagh school district.

Thank you, sorry MacArthur.. Wow, that was a brain fart!

My sister used to live right there. They just sold their house that was seaford zip with Levittown SD. They sold bc they wanted a bigger house. It was a pretty area. Well maintained homes. She wound up moving to south bellmore now. But her former neighborhood was a very nice family area.

It's a great area.
Our ILs just sold their home there. (Retired and don't want to deal with upkeep and cost of a big home).
DH and his siblings grew up there.
