teacher drama in the workplace advice

Any advice to avoid workplace drama? so much of it going on right now with schedule changes and I feel like others are lumping me into their problems. I don't want to be involved or to be a part of it, and I'm a little worried a supervisor might be told my name and I don't want a part in any drama!!!

ugh teacher drama. I think you literally need to keep to yourself or else it can be impossible to avoid. I'm finding every school has its drama at some point. And you are right it gets worse this time of the year!

Yup. Same in my building. Except it's more gossip than drama. Who's leaving, who's staying etc. I generally have my confidant at work who tends to be in the know and I let her tell me new revelations. Other than that I stay under the radar, and keep it pretty low key.

this is what is going on right now. and as a newer teacher, I am finding that alot of people keep talking to me about it, and i'm still trying to figure out who is trustworthy and who isn't. I am just thankful to have a job at all, but I don't have a tentative list yet for next year because there are alot of changes happening right now. I was told I am definitely hired back for next year, but not sure what I will be teaching yet. Word got out somehow that I don't have a class schedule yet, and i'm getting asked a lot of questions. I am worried that the principal will hear about this and think I am upset about it, which I am not.

two. more. days.... ugh

Yup, we are facing a similar issue in our school. So everyone is talking and asking around. The reality is that people will talk and ask questions. Just keep your answers and tone the same so people don't take what you say out of proportion.

Don't trust anyone. The people who you think are your "friends" may turn on you to save their ass. You are too new to know who to trust.
