Scheduled my induction date!
Yay!!! I've been badgering my OB since like 6 months to give me a date .....she clearly has the patience of a saint. I'm 37 weeks today - and today she finally caved and scheduled me for Monday, July 20th. I'll be 2 days shy of my due date......but at least I can make some plans now!
Between delivering in NYC (I work at the hospital, though I live in Suffolk), worrying about who will have DS, and working around DH's insane schedule (he works overnights)......I was totally obsessing about this.
I was induced with DS1 3 days past my due date and had a great experience - hoping for a repeat, though I know they never go quite the same.
Clearly the little guy can come early and thwart my plans - which would be fine - but at least I can have a plan in place to calm my neurotic tendencies!

Re: Scheduled my induction date!
Why are you doing an induction? Is there a reason it's necessary for this birth? I'm asking only because I also had to be induced with #1. I was over a week late, and am hoping that won't be an indication of how this one will go. Would love to avoid inducing this time around if at all possible. But either way - yay for finally having a date set! I hope it all goes smoothly for you & baby

You sound like me!! I was obsessed with when I would induced the first time around bc it was feb and I'm a teacher so I was trying to plan it so I wouldn't be off before the baby was here! I ended up going two weeks early so it didn't matter! My husband also works nights so I understand that aspect also! I am 36+ weeks now and I'm really hoping she comes by 38 weeks again like my son! Good thing is I'm off now and my in laws live next door so the babysitting part is covered no matter what and if I call dh in the middle of the night he could be home in 1/2 hour! Good luck! We're almost there!!!

Induction is my choice. My OB doesn't want me to go past my due date anyway (high risk).....and I don't want a c-section. Since my first was an induction and was a good experience, I'm willingly up for it this time around.
ETA - If I go into labor in the middle of the night, it will take dh at least 30 minutes to get to me, and then we're at least an hour from the hospital. I can't deal with that! Was a concern from day 1 when I decided to deliver in the city....but now it's real!
