ok so im doing the glucose test tomorrow..
even my very health conscious hubs said i have no choice. lol
am i going to be sick to my stomach? did you eat right after the hour or give your stomach some time to settle.

ok so im doing the glucose test tomorrow..
First time I took the 1 hour, I felt fine. 3 hour I felt sick but I was dealing with Morning sickness.
This time I took the 2 hour and I had been starving before drinking it but after chugging it, I felt blah. I should have taken the full 5 mins to drink it instead of trying to drink it as fast as possible.
I grabbed something to eat after all tests but didn't necessarily eat right away.

ok so im doing the glucose test tomorrow..
I ate right after. I also highly suggest drinking it with a straw. Somebody suggested it to me and I was able to suck it down in no time and not really taste it.

I needed to eat right after. Brought a granola bar and piece of fruit. Don't worry, it's not as big of a deal as ppl make it.

I remember the night before the 1 hour with DD1, I couldn't sleep because I was dreading it so much. For some reason, I expected the drink to have a thick sludge like consistency so I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't. I had orange which tasted like Hi-C.
I did not like lemon lime.

I found it to be totally painless. I chugged it and felt no adverse effects during the hour nor after.

ok so im doing the glucose test tomorrow..
The fruit punch flavor isn't bad. They gave it to me to take home 2 weeks prior so I just made sure it was ice cold. I drunk it from the bottle and had my blood drawn and hour later then ate a granola bar.

I'm the odd one, but the orange tasted like flat sugary soda. I kinda liked it. I chugged mine simply because I wanted to get in and out in the hour. No side effects. Passed with both pregnancies

I did not do well with that one only because I get severely dehydrated very easily! I mean, I almost blacked out at my damn wedding and we had to stop the entire ceremony to let me sit down and drink water! That's how insane it gets. So I took the 1 hr glucose and did fine with the drink, etc, but by the end of the hour I was shaking and blacking out and dizzy and finally just told them I was done. I could feel that I only had minutes until I'd pass out if I didn't drink water. So they quickly finished up the test and I immediately drank and ate before heading home. It was ridiculous. Luckily I didn't have to go back for a 3 hr one. This time around I'm going to make sure I drink a TON before doing the test. I'm going to try to be as freaking hydrated as possible beforehand. So if you're prone to dehydration and the likes, prepare. If not, I'm sure you'll be fine! Good luck!

Wasn't sick to my stomach with the 1 hour. It tastes like flat orange soda. I failed by 1 point and had to take the 3 hour. That one was rough but still didn't get sick to my stomach.

same here. I always get the orange. it tastes like soda. no big deal. chug it and your done. I also ate right afterwards.

Wow I've never heard of being allowed to drink water at all during the test. I would have killed for even a sip but wasn't allowed since they said it could alter the results. Where did you go?

I liked it too: like quarter drinks from my childhood.
It's sugar water, so you aren't going to be dehydrated or hungry.
I went shopping during my 3 hour test (inbetween blood draws) in the heat without the kids (bliss).
