Everyone I know who sees them, loves them.
I go to the same practice they work out of but see the high risk doctors so I can only comment on my experience w/ the practice as a whole. Some of the women at the front desk can be rude and unfriendly. The sono techs are all very nice.

They're really nice! They were also recommended to me when I was switching from an obgyn to a midwife. I agree with the other poster about the front desk ladies though, some on them can be a bit rude.

My best friend had an excellent experience with them after leaving her OB halfway into her pregnancy in hysterics because her doctor was so condescending after she asked about not having an epidural (she just asked the question about if she wanted to try without an epi, and the doctor went off on her).

I used them (Bohemia office) and thought they were fantastic. And I had 0 issues with the front desk.

Re: Stony Brook Midwives
I used them and loved them. Amanda Sini delivered my son and was fabulous. I do agree though, the women at the front desk were HORRENDOUS. I went to the Technology Drive office. They were rude and once left me in the waiting room for over an hour because they forgot to give the midwives my folder. I had to go up to them three times before they realized their mistake! That was particularly awful bc they make you "hold your urine" until you go back there which was pure torture when I was preggo!

How they run the front desk has changed a bit over the past year. Sometimes you check out in the back by the exam rooms, sometimes where you used to go to check out, and other times at the front desk where you check in.
There was no one at the desk in the back so they said to go to the regular check out location. There was a lady sitting there so I stood there and waited for a few minutes. Eventually she looked up, saw me and so rudely pointed at a small sign saying check out was closed. Didn't even say a word, just pointed. So I askdd her where I can go to check out and make another appointment since this was the first time I had experienced this. She then pointed to the front desk where you check in. She couldn't even say anything. Just pointed so rudely. Even DH was like, what is her problem?
They just seem so miserable. I don't get it. The last couple of appointments I've had, they've had a couple of new people who seem nicer.

I wonder how the Bohemia office is? I've heard there's a possibility that a midwife from a different office can end up delivering the baby

Re: Stony Brook Midwives
I just started going to the Bohemia office and so far the ladies in the front have been plesent and I haven't waited longer then 10 mins. I'm going in 2 weeks to meet with a midwife.

That's definitely a possibility. I went to the East Setauket office, but a Bohemia midwife delivered my son. So the delivery room was the first time I met her. We became fast friends
