Thinking about switching to Stony Brook Midwives... ???
I am actually happy with my current OB, he is a real sweet and smart guy. BUT since we've been practicing/learning about natural childbirth and the Bradley Method I have been thinking about what a PITA it might be at NSUH to try and do everything natural. Specifically, not laying down flat during the birth.
I am 32w, so it's a little late in the game, lol, but I am considering it... I picked NSUH b/c of the NICU level etc. but Stony Brook has a really good one too if the need should arise. SO it's like all the benefits of the midwife practice and then that emergency assurance as well. PS so far everything w/ my pregnancy is great- so it's not like I'm going into this w/ any high risk.
Any thoughts/experiences w Stony Brook?

I switched to Stony Brook midwives because I thought it would be a struggle to go natural at NSUH, too. I've had 2 drug-free births with the midwives and they were fabulous. The way they do things is completely in-line with what I wanted. I never had to argue or plead about anything. I got exactly what I wanted.

I had a VBAC with them back in April. They were wonderful & I recommend them if you are looking to go the more natural route.
